Day/Night Test Cricket...

I thought this deserved a thread on its own. It's not a big secret that I'm a hard core test Cricket fan, and this probably is a defining months for the future of Test Cricket!

Many purists are highly critical of this, but if you asked me this has been long overdue. This will add many new challenges to what is already the toughest test of Cricketing skills. People need to start getting excited about this format of Cricket. I see no downside to this at all...

Let's see some deadly yorkers (criminally under used in test cricket) late into the night.

Let's see subcontinent spinners combat damp and slippery balls. Fast bowlers are going to get a new string in their bow...

I'm so freaking excited!!!!

First I've heard of this. I can see why it would bother the purists, but I agree with your "long overdue" comment. Would be interested to see some of the logistics involved.

I think a day / night test would be great entertainment but think it'll be a while before we see one played in England. Think it'll be somewhere like South Africa or NZ where they can struggle to sell out test cricket played on weekdays.

West Indies' Chris Gayle creates Test history with opening six
Chris Gayle has become the first player ever to hit a six off the first ball of a Test match.
The West Indies left hander hit Bangladesh debutant Sohag Gazi over long-on in the first Test in Dhaka.
It was the 2,051st Test in history since the first match in 1877 but Gayle's luck eventually ran out when Gazi had the opener caught for 24.

As for day/night test cricket, I'm all for it.
