Guardian has it at 40 mill but its still fucking insane. He's worth 10-15 mill
 
Think about this, its 40m quid which will also take them over the FFP again for the next 12 months and they will face another 50m fine.

So effectively they are agreeing to a 90m expenditure on David Lulz

Yeah, I noticed that this morning and was baffled.

I can see why someone would pay 20-25M for him in the current market but 50M just makes you think that is some dodgy shit going on behind the scenes. That's more than they paid for Thiago Silva.

It's fucking ridiculous, Chelsea have been so lucky with the Mata, De Bryne and now Luis transfers. They have made over £100million from those three, £100million. They're basically being given a free pass with financial fair play.
 
It has to include wages, say 30m transfer plus 20m wages.

And be in Euro.

And it would still be a good deal for Chelsea.

this is a disingenuous comparison. Kolo is old and past it whereas lucas is a non-entity at international level. luiz is a wonderful player who does not fit the jose school of football. he is a lynchpin of Brazil and widely sought after by big clubs. If lallana is going for 25m then Luiz at 40m is not unreasonable considering CVs and all.

I wouldn't consider him a wonderful player, he's a good individual who clearly has talent, but he's a luxury player who has no real settled position. Mainly because he's so erratic.

£50m is barmy. £30m would be barmy.
 
This is a total load of wank in terms of FFP and what those cunts are going to be able to spend this close season.
 
i wonder what the repercussions are for the transfer merry go round:

chelsea use the dosh to pay 30/40m for varane? - real use that extra dosh to buy suarez for 100m?
 
It shows a massive flaw in FFP, in that if clubs cam agree behind closed doors to do this for each other by overpaying massively for each others players then they can continually flout the rules.
That has to be what is happening, there's no other sane explanation.
