Scotland international defender Danny Wilson has signed for Hearts on loan until the end of the season.
The Liverpool defender could well go straight into the squad for the Tynecastle club's trip to Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
The former Rangers defender spent the first half of the season with Bristol City, but made just a single appearance in a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough.
Wilson broke into the Rangers first-team at the age of 18, becoming a regular fixture in the side and forming a formidable partnership with David Weir, a taking part in the team's Champions League campaign.
Hearts had previously been under a registration embargo, and have since been told that they can only register players aged 21 or younger, provided they are paid less than the outgoing member of the squad.
Wilson celebrated his 21st birthday on December 27 last year, but qualifies as under-21 under the SPL rules from the start of the 2012/13 season.
