Will he believe again?

Shame we can't take him back.

His interview on Roy seems like just the things half our players need.

I really want to see Babel given a proper run now and the news that he encourages attacking players to play with freedom could be just what he needs.

*excited*

He're Babel, you are free to play shite football, be sure and whack the odd one in between being entirely useless for 8 games, that'll keep the idiots on board.

See Bobby Zamoro.......

it seems people want us to have a team consisting of riise, hyypia, murphy, bellamy.

Any others?

I think Keane would be excellant under Roy ironically.

So because Zamora had one good season amongst a lot of shite, we can conclude that any other meh to shit player will become god under Hodgson?

Zamora consistently tries. Babel doesn't. Hodgson doesn't favor expressive attacking football, he requires just as much discipline as Benitez did, and like any manager, he won't appreciate Babels laziness, failure to follow directions, or shit technique.

I miss Didi Hamann... I say we add him to the list as well. And I still say we never should have sold Stephen Warnock.

I would take Murphy back though... always been one of my favourite players.

Maybe so. But would you try your hardest for a manager you don't like and obviously doesn't like you?

I think from Murphy's interview we could finally have the arm around the shoulder manager some of fledling stars have craved.

I think you may be surprised this season.

I think the one thing we can all agree on is that we're going to be surprised this season.

Contents of said surprise as yet undetermined.

And so it begins. We had the same thing when Benitez joined, with Cheyrou and Letallec.

Maybe we will now see the 'real' Babel/ Insua/ Lucas

GYAC, we've already seen the real Lucas. He's shite.

He's not going to suddenly turn into Steven Gerrard just because some old bloke tells him to attack more

How about you take a month long break from the site Brendan?

Why?

B/c he must be getting bored with his repetitive, annoying, DB like posting habits.

I'm in favour of giving Babel a chance under a manager that might let him practice attacking play in training.

If we have no money, keep him.

If we have money and we can get a good offer for him, get someone better. I like Babel but I think he needs to play for a different team to progress.

I can't see how they can have done. For large periods under Benitez we were completely clueless in the final third. Football isn't that complicated.

Good passing sides are mostly down to training, it's definitely possible to have reasonable players underperform becuase of shit training methods. Just like reasonable players can look great when the team is working well together.

Team that doesn't practice attacking finish second with most goals scored in the league shocker!

*Link was supposed to show the table from 08-09 when we scored 77, while Utd, Chelsea & arsenal scored 68. We still finished 2nd and that was down to Rafa.

Bradley, I'm not sure that year is fair taken as a reflection of his tenure overall
[/quote]

Your right, we struggled to notch up goals during Rafa time and he was too defensive. But you can't say that he failed to allow training on attacking aspects of the game.

Hopefully Hodg will take a more balanced approach between attack & defense.
