Was this my suggestion? I dont remember it being my suggestion!
If it was it was probably any solution to keep Poucas out of the team. Which imho is a fucking boss idea.

Largely i just reckon were fucked and need minimum 4 new players all of whom are class and will adapt to our system and play immediately.

Yeah so anyone but Poucas.
Sure i dig.

Bad idea. We'll see even less of Agger if he plays there because his brittle bones wouldn't stand up to the tackles.

FSG need to just buy a specialist DM. Splash the cash.

My memory is poor at the best of times, but I think he did play for us in DM in one game during an injury crisis and did ok (not that I endorse this idea).

Roys worst mistake (and there were a few) was buying Ming instead of directly replacing Masher (with someone good).

Didn't he claim Meireles wasn't his signing? Mind you, he also claimed Rafa wouldn't allow the King into Melwood or something ridiculous.

Ive always thought about this as he is our best "footballing" centre back. Is worth a shot along with Johnson at right midfield as its not as if we,ve got alot to loose (thats if he would even want to play there)

He's not really a ball winner so no. He's better in defence alongside someone powerful and imposing, in midfield right now we need a powerhouse who will chase around, harass players and win the ball back, he's a bit too similar to what we already have in there.

I thought that was Cole?

With the general consensus being that we need a tough midfield enforcer in the mould of Mascherano, I can't imagine why anyone would suggest Agger as the solution.

Piss weak in the challenge, and for what it's worth, his positioning hasn't been great. The great myth of Daniel Agger is only perpetuated by brief cameos of him striding into midfield with the ball, and then over the course of each of his injuries we get plenty of time to forget about all the shockers he has.

I concur.

Ross - so do I.

Refugee - both, I think. There was a whole list of signings which Roy tried to disclaim, only weeks after he'd said how relieved he was that we hadn't got rid of half the squad.

I didn't see that, but it would be very worrying if it was true. I wonder who bought him then?

I think Meireles was probably Hodgson's choice; since his arrival was just days around the Mascherano exit.

There was some talk about Cole being a Purslow target and not Hodgson's, but it's probably hard to be definite one way or the other. It would be surpising that Hodgson wouldnt want to take credit for Cole, since it was still probably a good idea at the time seeing as Ypssi as off...also because his other purchases were shit.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger is reported to be negotiating terms with Fiorentina.

Daniel Agger could be on his way out of Anfield
• Agger demands first-team football
• Babel accepts FA charge

Agger, 26, warned recently that he would look to leave the club if he was not a first-team regular. There appears little reason for the player to act on that threat - he has made four appearances already in January, starting both games since Kenny Dalglish took charge - but FIFA agent Bernardo Brovarone has claimed he is now discussing a move to Italy.

"The Viola have put forward a contract proposal to Agger, offering him €1.5 million, but he wants €2 million per season," he told Lady Radio. "Now we have to wait and see what Liverpool say about it."

Agger, who joined Liverpool from Brondby in 2006, has also been linked with Tottenham, Arsenal and Juventus.

Unless the tax regime is a lot more beneficial to footballers in Italy I can't see him accepting €30k a week, when he's supposed to be on £75k a week here.

Fitness issues being the main reason to get shot of him, I also want him sold so we won't have to listen to KHL going on and on about him.

Unless he really does want first team football first & foremost. Some footy players do value that above further enriching themselves. Not many like, but the odd one.

Which is probably why we're trying to sell him. £75k a week, for Agger? I dread to think what the rest of them are on.

I think I read that lump Jovanovic is on around the £70k mark. Seriously, is there a club worse run than us?

A part of me just died inside. Are you kidding me?

No wonder Spurs are killing us in the transfer market.

It's ridiculous. Rafa didn't half sign some shite, as well as good.

That's the main reason we're in the shit; the crap transfers arent just crap because of the fee.

It's the money we're paying these clods to wear the Red shirt.

Yep I think I read it on here actually. And that Poulsen is on like £60k.

I refuse to believe Johnson is on over £100k, though, as I keep seeing reported. We're bad, but we're not THAT bad surely?

And read in a few places Agger is on 50-55k a week. I guess I'll proving is that people are just guessing what they're on, as it's rarely if ever announced. But you can be sure that it's too much.

I'm not so sure, imagine KHL's posts if Agger plays a few good games in succession for another club

it's worrying all the rubbish players on ridiculously high wages. you have to get rid of them first before you bring in new players but old rubbish players have no resale value. it's okay for man city (and chelsea before them) in that they could bring in all the great players they wanted and then slowly get rid of their shite but in our position we have to sell to buy so our improvement is slower and incremental. 🙁

The problem isnt only selling to buy though.

It's buying shit, selling the shit, and then buying more shit.

Or buying good, selling good, and then buying shit.
