It's different here - Alves is saying agreement was done ... and we pulled out.
That's insane ... Horrible mistake, especially when the fee being touted was 9 million quid!

Rafa crazily wanted him as a right sided midfielder though so he might have been wasted at LFC.

Don't think that was crazy TBH. He had played at least as often at RM as at fullback at that stage, and he always looked better suited further forward to me anyway.

This. We reportedly tried to get around it by offering payment for Alves by instalments, but Sevilla wouldn't have it and the deal went belly up at that point.
