Damn Daniel...

It is noticeable in the last 2 or 3 games he has upped his pressing duties quite a bit. Perhaps he has been adjusting to Klopp's instructions as he has been getting more match fit and feels he can trust his body a little better with each game. To suggest he isn't a team player is a bit of a stretch.

If Klopp want to sell, then sell. I don't care who we sell this summer as long as Klopp have the last word. If our owners lets him build his team then he will build a fantastic squad.

If Klopp wanted Sturrudge out it would make me question his judgment.

He is a fantastic striker. Certainly the best we can get given the position we are in - I.e behind Leicester, Southampton, West Ham and Spurs in the league.

Now he's fit and firing selling him would be seriously stupid, unless we had some special insight into his injuries and know he will be fucked in a few years. But even then it's a major risk.

You do realise the last striker Klopp signed was completely shit. Scored 3 goals in 24 appearance then loaned out for 2 years. He's far from infallible.

Weren't many of the Dortmund signings done by his sporting director (Zorc)?

Unless we have a replacement that is Studge's equal - we shouldn't sell to a rival. Heck, we shouldn't sell to those thundercunts regardless.

I think all this 'last word' stuff ignores the fact that that is how it works at all clubs. I cannot imagine there is a manager out there willing to work under conditions whereby he has players forced in or out of his squad without his input.

The problem we have had is not who has the last word, it's who has compiled the list in the first place. This is how we ended up with Balotelli, Rodgers had the last word then but he will have had little input into who was on the list he was picking from.

DoF, committee, whoever - there is no club out there that has never made a misstep in recruitment and no club out there who has one guy in charge of the whole recruitment process. It's collaborative for all clubs and is very easy to get wrong. It's very subjective and therefore difficult to quantify, but I bet data on the success and failure of clubs recruitment policies would be fascinating reading.

He was going on about all his mates being down south in that interview he gave the other day so I guess from a lifestyle point of view he'd be pretty open to a move to London.

It's going to be really interesting to see what we do with Sturridge and our attack in general over the summer as it's quite a complex problem to solve.

Sturridge finally looks like he might have put his injury woes behind him but is anyone really going to put their faith in that given the terrible waste of the last two seasons?

There have been question marks over his ability to conform to what Klopp wants from his players but most crucially, I don't think he's suited to playing as an out and out striker, which means some kind of fluid attacking line-up that is specially put together for him.... or does it?

But bottom line, he's a world class talent, our best player and (for now) only natural goalscorer. Given our recent inability to attract top tier talent, it hardly seems like we're in a position to just give one away... particularly to a rival.

I think we'd be mad to sell at any price... unless we're 100% sure that Origi is going to step up in a big big way and have a couple of aces up our sleeves... and even then it's a real leap of faith.

Let's give it another year. He'll have two years left on his contract next summer at which point we'll have to make a decision anyways and we'll be in a better place to make it.

I really think he will leave its just a question of for how much.

Hopefully more than 30m but lets face it, if he breaks down again and is out for 6 months it will hardly be a shock.

He's already said all his mates are down south and he's only up here for a job.

Be a shame if he left, but Klopp said from the start if someone doesn't want to be here then they can fuck off.

Its become obvious that we have a player that is world class talent in Origi - who is stronger than Sturridge and is proving to be a complete striker both with his ability to hold the ball, pace, and skill. I think Klopp wants a guaranteed player who will not get injured. If Studge wants to go to Arsenal - then he will be right at home with half their players playing half a season.

I actually trust Klopp - if anything he has shown this season is that he makes changes as soon as he detects players are not up to it. Does not do the suborn Rafa/GH bollocks in persisting with shit. He follows the mood of the fans in the type of selections he makes.

So Origi is never injured? And wasn't Rafa known to rotate his players?

Wouldn't sell him for less than silly money. 50m+. Which no team in their right mind would pay.

Sure, he might not ever be consistently fit for us - but the second we shipped him somewhere else he'd be so full of EPO, GH and horse placenta he'd play a 50 game season and score a goal a game.

I'll take my chances on his fitness and have him in the squad.

And can we get him a song already?

Rafa rotates his players very much. If it is one manager out there that will look to how fit a player is before playing him then it is Rafa, he is famous for it.

If we sell him to Arsenal for example and he gets injured then it will be more or less season over for them so it can work both ways. No one have a clue. It would be a gamble.

Sorry but this is just mentalist stuff. Next you'll be telling us all we have no right to question the manager because we don't have coaching badges, or something. He makes mistakes Arn, it's not "moaning, moaning moaning" and not supporting the team, it's having perspective and realising that Klopp and every other manager out there, fucks up every now and then. He had a terrible last season at Dortmund and a few of his signings were huge flops.

And are you that blind to the fact that this club has repeatedly fucked up in just about every single way possible in recent years?

Selling Sturridge to a team that is pretty much lacking a natural goalscorer and already has fantastic quality in it's ranks, would be MENTAL. He might get injured, or he might score a shit load of goals that sees them (once again) finish above us.

Under NO circumstances should we sell him this Summer to a rival. We fought tooth & nail to avoid that scenario with Suarez, so it'd be pretty fucking stupid to do the same now with one of our current best players. Sterling was a bad situation but we got £50m for a kid who has gone into a squad where there would be a very real possibility his contribution would be minimal. We've gotten away with it for now with him, it's not something we should be making a habit of.

Hmm, debating what to think about what hasn't happened and probably won't happen. This thread is turning into a Harry Enfield routine: 'Oh yes, I defer to no one in my admiration of our toothily charismatic German leader, and would happily stand at the front of the queue for one of his trademark man hugs. But if he was to sell Daniel Sturridge, to Arsenal, for nothing more than some loose change and a signed picture of Pat Rice, I'd say, 'Oi, Klopp, NOOOOOO!!!!!!!'

Don't panic.

Ok, moron, just a coupe of points I'd like to get clarity on:

1) "Its become obvious that we have a player that is world class talent in Origi - who is stronger than Sturridge and is proving to be a complete striker both with his ability to hold the ball, pace, and skill"

OK. Really? Because let's look at some facts, while it may be obvious to you, the "world class" Origi has scored 5 Premiership goals in his entire career. Five. The most goals he has ever managed in an entire season was 9. That's nine. That was also the seaosn in which some newspaper voted him into their Worst XI of the season. It seems rather premature to place him above Sturridge, who has scored three more Premiership goals this season, in the same amount of games. And in his only full season without injury, scored 21.

Now, perhaps Klopp does want "a guaranteed player who will not get injured" but I'm not sure that's Origi. Who is injured.

2) "he has shown this season is that he makes changes as soon as he detects players are not up to it. Does not do the suborn Rafa/GH bollocks in persisting with shit. He follows the mood of the fans in the type of selections he makes"

Like giving Mignolet a new 5 year contract?
