The Danish centre-back signed a new five-year contract earlier this month to keep him at Anfield until 2014.

Maybe he didn't press down hard enough for his name to be seen on the carbon copy?

Are you choosing to ignore the first line on purpose, where it actually says he has already signed?
[/quote]

opps missed that 😛

I know rafa will be in the market for another center back, personally I'd promote a kid, they wont cost any money (other than the running of the academy) and they will be far more prepered to sit on the bench than a player in his early 20's.

The only slight downside being that they may not be good enough should they be called off the bench.

that would require two from carra, agger and skrtel getting crocked. not impossible but unlikely.

How many central defensive injuries did United have last season? It can and does happen.

Have you looked at Agger's injury record recently?

that's all behind him now 😉

I hope so, but it is rare that an injury prone player suddenly becomes (relatively) injury free, although Gerrard seems to have done it.

giggs? henry (to a lessor extent)?

I hope Agger plays every game at Anfield, he is good in that situation when he comes forward with the ball and can use his quality. it completely throws the opposition as they dont know whether to go with him or stay with their man marked game plan. away from home i'd probably play Skrtel where likelyhood is we have less possession and have to dig in a bit more
