Top brass, again. What a difference he makes to our play, he's quick, inventive, a nuisance and such a thorn in the oppositions side. We're lucky to have him, he's probably lucky to have us too. A match made in heaven. One of my favourite players of the last decade, I love his passion and commitment, even if it does see him overstep the mark, he's a 'proper' Liverpool player and a fucking winner.

Our midfield today, in general, really excited me, it reminds me of when we had Spud, Thommo and Gerrard coming through, we're looking a clever footballing side. Give us one more top quality attacking player and we're laughing.

Bellamy just gives us an edge, his energy and hard running is infectious. I love the lad!

It's impossible not to love him. His attitude and commitment is what you want from every player. If everyone had his drive and commitment you couldn't go far wrong. As someone said earlier in another thread, I just wish he was 4-5 younger

He was ace today. He worried me today after he got that soft yellow that he was going to talk his way into a second booking, but I suppose that fiery temperament just comes with the package. He opened them up a load of times, and did what Downing failed to do- he drove into the space ahead of him time and again, and really worked their defenders. A top performance, and some very encouraging interplay with Suarez who had a proper partner in crime in opening Villa up. If Downing had only showed some of Beller's intensity on the right we could have really smashed these today.

If we had taken our chances we'd have smashed these you mean right?

Craig was excellent, yet again. One of my favourite players this season, and certainly of the best transfers we've done in God knows how long.
He loves the club and his attitude is top notch.

Its fucking nuts, he has 3 yellows in his last 3 games FOR FUCK ALL!

Its like the Refs are ....... nevermind I'm getting into conspiracy land again .......

Is it just me, or does Bellamy seem to pop up all over the pitch. Left wing, right wing, up top, dropping deep to collect or hassle. It looks to me like Kenny has a lot of faith in him to read the game and gives him the freedom to be where he is needed. There also seems to be a lot of love between the two, you see it when Bellamy goes off and Kenny is there with a big manhug every time.

I mean we'd have really tortured them if Downing had exploited the space in front of him. Time and again he checked with the ball, allowing their defence to regroup. Downing could have had a stormer today, he had the ball in great positions probably more often than Bellamy. The difference was in what Bellers did when he was in those positions in comparison with Downing who just semed to freeze. As I mentioned in the match thread, it was almost as if he was deliberately avoiding 'running up the score'. I doubt it was deliberate, but it almost looked like it was, so often he failed to take the initiative in good positions.

Good post. Bellamy has much more freedom under Kenny than he did under Rafa and it's no coincidence that he's better for it.

He's the type of player that needs to be appreciated and allowed to express himself. Nothing wrong with that.

Excuse the cliche but he's been a breath of fresh air, just adds so much drive and pace to the team.

The booking today was just ridiculous. The guy just ran into him.

If you could only appeal yellows. Bellamy picks them up on reputation alone. Repeatedly.

He links up far better with Enrique than Downing. But then, I said this would happen months ago.

The refs are jealous of his bright smile. 3 ridiculous yellows in a row.

The Gary Mac of the Dalglish era. There, i said it.
[/quote]
You think? I had Charlie Adam marked down as the Gary Mac of the Dalglish era, but then maybe it's because they're both Scottish.

Our momentum and passing along with our ability to break very quickly is clearly too much for a lot of sides to handle. If we could improve our finishing we could beat anyone in the league, we have come away ruing missed chances too many times already this season, Man Utd, Man City, Norwich to name a few. If Suarez or Carroll could start to be a bit more clinical theres no reason why we cannot start hammering teams.

This.

Ryan quit this whole waa waa waa I told you so bollocks, predicting Downing would be lacklustre is hardly a messiah like premonition.

Its ironic you should mentioned Enrique anyway, seems as you'd decided through your unmatchable forsight that he would be completely average. Called that one perfectly.

Give Ryan a break. After all, how would we possibly know we'd be improved by 'world class players' if Ryan wasn't repeatedly telling us this?

The answer is clear to me:

Suarez

Bellers Gerrard Maxi

Adam Henderson

With a Maxi upgrade in Jan if necessary.

Good and all as Craig is, I don't think he'll be playing every game for us, and he probably wouldn't be this good if he did play every game. We still another option.

He's a superb professional these days.

In no small measure, thanks to Kenny. He's a real players' manager, isn't he? Bellamy loves playing for him, and the two seem to have a great relationship. I'm made up as I really like Bellamy.

On another note. those understating the importance of pace in an attack should see the absolutely new dimension the side has when Bellamy is playing. He's a menace and this is not of course only because of his pace, but also because he's a very capable and skilful player, but he has defenders back tracking all the time because he's so bleeding quick (also, it's pretty surprising he's still so quick given his age and injury record).
