Abiding memory is his performance against Man City in the League Cup Semi Final at Anfield. Tore them to shreds that night.

Hunched shoulders, permanent scowl, lightning pace, hair-trigger temper, wielder of golf clubs and generous benefactor. Complex character but a talented and entertaining footballer. Good luck Craig.

Yep - Much loved by all Reds. That golf club goal against Barca was great. Good luck to him.

Can't post it on tapatalk but someone post the video of his post game interview against Finland.
It was Bellers down to a tee.
Honest and says and does what he fucking likes.
I'll miss the little sniper.
The game needs more like him.

He never seemed the same after Gary Speed's death, I'll always remember him fondly, he was a cracking player and I think it was only his restless nature that stopped him being considered a great at a big club (by staying there long enough), I think the closest he probably came was with us. For the sheer mutual respect he had with the club, it's staff and the fans.

I hope he has the best of luck and happiness in the future, whatever he goes on to do.

Do fans from any club he's played for have a bad word to say about him?

I would I also give lots of respect to his Sierra Leone philanthropy. A pretty stunning and wonderful thing that he has done there. He doesn't bang on about it either.

We should have signed him from Norwich all those years ago, he would have been a total legend.

I doubt we would have stuck with him long enough to see the best of him. When he left Norwich for Coventry, we had Owen, Fowler and Heskey (in the treble season) whereas Bellers didn't have a great season at Coventry (he was young and probably didn't get great service) even if he was in great form he wouldn't have dislodged Owen and we would have left him on the bench to rot.

Now if we had signed him from Newcastle, that would be a different story....

I never rated him tbh. He had a decent season before he joined us the first time and he did OK for us.
He was a funny character but I can't honestly say that I rated him as a footballer.

Hmmm strange - I always thought he was mint. So did Gerrard come to think of it. He was quite outspoken about his admiration for Bellers.

What I'm saying is that he's a likeable character . He jokes around, has tantrums, says crazy things like when he said "you're a fucking genius" to Rafa on camera etc.
Its sad that he's quitting and all that but he was never a top class player imo. If he was he would have played for one of the bigger clubs much earlier in his career.
