I know that everyone is jizzing about Joe Cole right now but...

what do you think about Fernando Torres Llorente as a partner/cover for Torres. I brought up Gyan before but I'm kinda surprised that I haven't heard any transfer news regarding Llorente. IMO he's top class and wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg.

While on the subject of Basque players. Javi Martinez seems to be a great replacement for Mascherano, I'm sure we can afford him with the money we get from selling Mascherano.

I like Llorente and if the price was reasonable, he'd be a good signing as a target man.

I've honestly no idea.

I don't with any of these foreign players. I haven't watched any games bar Liverpool for 12+ months.

Football's been too depressing.

Llorente would be a good partner for Torres. As for Martinez, he has been long linked to us but I read somewhere that Citeh look to be signing him.

I am not a big expert on foreign players either , but the bits I saw of Llorente in the world cup made me think he could be a good premiership player.
Is he likely to be available , if so how much , I would have thought big bucks

regards

Not a chance apparently, he has a buy-out clause for between around £35m, and seems very popular at Bibao

Javi Martinez is more in the Alonso mould than Masher. I would like a passer and a destroyer in our midfield, greedy I know. That is why Alonso and Masher's game complimented each other so effectively. Cambiasso + cash for Masher then add money to buy Martinez is the dream transfer merry-go-round. Not plausible but no harm in dreaming sure.

He may not be exactly the type of cover we need as sort of a stop-gap solution but Nathan Delfouneso of Aston Villa seems to be a hot prospect. Looking good so far at the U 19 Euros.

Fact is we are already in for Remy (both Remy himself and the Nice manager have said so in no uncertain terms.) so there will be NO other striker if we get him. Until / if that falls through this is just a fantasy thread (sorry Modokay) .

True...

Llorente seems to have finally got some consistency. A fine player. Much better 'big' option than crouch imo.

Martinez is nothing like mascherano. As I've said many times, he's like the version of lucas we were promised but didn't receive.

I doubt we can afford either.
