Houghton is pretty Irish

He isn't really. He does work there at times, but his accent is 100% Scottish and he spends most of his time here in England.

Back on thread duty: am I the only one who wonders whether Costa will be enough if he's the only decent striker Chavski buy this summer?

Nope. He'll be suspended for at least 5 or 6 games too I reckon.

A german Newspaper reports that Bayern Munich have offered €30m for Luiz, Chelsea have suggested instead a swap deal with Mario Mandzukic & the deal hangs on Bayern first securing Lewandoski. So maybe Costa is staying put. The story was reconstituted from a story first proved by Bild newspaper who have it behind a paywall(the second link).

Or maybe they want Costa *and* Mandzukic, 'coz neither one will be enough on his own. IMHO of course.
