Cedric Mabwati - Real Betis (€1.20)

imagen_noticia_4003.jpg

New Real Betis signing Cedric Mabwati says he is happy to have arrived at the Andalusian club following his unveiling on Wednesday.

The Congolese international has been snapped up for a token €1.20, a sum that was included in his contract with former club Numancia, and spoke of his delight at finally landing at Heliopolis.

“I’m very excited and very happy to have come to Betis. I hope to work hard and help the team in any way I can,” he told gathered media.

“It’s a very important step for me and when I was first told about this move it made me really happy as this is a big club.

“I can play on either wing and I think my strength is my pace, so I’ll try to help my teammates in that.

“I don’t mind which side of the pitch I play on as I’ve played on both wings from when I was a youngster.”

Inevitably, the 21-year-old was asked about the €1.20 release clause inserted in his agreement with the Soria outfit.

“That’s a question I was expecting. There are a lot of things behind it but my agent knows more,” he replied.

“I can only say that I didn’t have to go and pay it. It’s just a story, but I will say that I am excited to be playing in Europe.

“Betis had a good season and hopefully we can do the same again this year. I’ve no preference for any numbered shirt, but whichever one they give me I’ll gladly wear it,” he added.

Cedric arrived in Spain in his early teens and joined Atletico Madrid’s youth system at the age of 13, spending two seasons with the club’s B team before being loaned to Numancia and eventually signing in 2011.

Jonjo Shelvey - Swansea (£5 million)

Swansea City have made their fifth major signing of the summer after completing a £5million deal for Liverpool’s England international Jonjo Shelvey.

The 21-year-old arrived for talks at the Liberty this afternoon before agreeing a four-year deal with the Capital One Cup holders.

The fee for Shelvey, who will join up with the Swans squad during the pre-season tour of Holland, also includes potential add-ons on top of the transfer fee.

Shelvey joins the likes of Spanish trio Jordi Amat, Jose Canas and Alejandro Pozuelo along with Jonathan de Guzman – who has returned on loan – as the new arrivals in Michael Laudrup’s squad.

Shelvey spent part of his youth career at Arsenal and West Ham before his move to Charlton.

He spent three seasons at The Valley, making his debut as a 16-year-old, which saw him become the Addicks’ youngest player.

In just his third appearance for the club, he started the opening 2-0 win over the Swans in the Championship.

Shelvey’s performances with Charlton saw him attract the eye of Liverpool, who took him to Anfield for £1.7million.

He made 21 appearances in all competitions during his first season with the Reds, and then spent time on loan with Blackpool – scoring six goals in ten games – during the 2011-12 campaign before ending the season back at Liverpool by starting in the 1-0 at the Liberty on the final day.

Last season, he made 32 appearances under Brendan Rodgers which included scoring four goals in ten Europa League appearances.

His form on the domestic and European scene earned him international recognition – winning his first England cap in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino at Wembley last October before featuring for the Under-21s in the European Championships this summer.

“Chelsea Football Club and Vitesse Arnhem have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marco van Ginkel. The player will join Chelsea subject to a medical, agreement of personal terms and legal documentation.”

Good player, bad club for him I feel. He's going to struggle to get decent minutes in that midfield

Fee is reportedly £8m. Think they might loan him out 1st. They've got a couple of connections in the Dutch league like Vitesse Arnhem and PSV.

Antonio Cassano - Parma (50% co-ownership of Ishak Belfodil)

BOQ2huCCYAAMV4d.jpg

Parma are “proud to say Antonio Cassano is our player and will wear the Number 99 shirt” after a deal with Inter.

The transfer has been in the works for over a week, but was held up by Matias Silvestre’s refusal to move to the Tardini.

However, it seems as if the two clubs have agreed a separate deal exchanging Cassano for 50 per cent of Ishak Belfodil.

“I am proud to say Cassano is our player and will wear the Number 99 shirt,” Parma director Pietro Leonardi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Tomorrow many people will be waiting for him at the official presentation.”

The financial details of the move - and Belfodil's involvement - have not been confirmed, but FantAntonio will be presented at 17.30 UK time on Thursday.

Cassano turns 31 next week and had only been at Inter for a year. He grew up in the Bari youth academy, going through Roma, Real Madrid, Sampdoria, Milan and the Nerazzurri.

Fee is reportedly £8m. Think they might loan him out 1st. They've got a couple of connections in the Dutch league like Vitesse Arnhem and PSV.

He is already at Vitesse. They have first choice on players from there.

Igor Denisov - Anzhi (€12m)

Igor-Denisov-to-anzhi-2013.jpg

Russia captain Igor Denisov has joined UEFA Europa League group stage entrants FC Anji Makhachkala on a long-term contract.

Anji have made the 29-year-old FC Zenit St Petersburg midfielder their third summer signing for a reported €12m, following the earlier arrivals of FC Kuban Krasnodar midfielder Aleksei Ionov and FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod goalkeeper Mikhail Kerzhakov.

The move takes Denisov from last season's Premier-Liga runners-up to a side that finished nine points below them in third. He also leaves his hometown club where he had spent his entire career, scoring 23 goals in 254 league games following his Zenit debut in 2002.

"We are happy with this transfer – in Igor we have a quality addition to our squad," said Anji chief executive Aivaz Kaziakhmedov. Denisov, who was made Russia captain by Fabio Capello after the Italian's appointment last summer, also won three Russian titles and the 2008 UEFA Cup with the St Petersburg team.

Aleksandr Kokorin - Anzhi (€19m)

293203_heroa.jpg

FC Anji Makhachkala's summer recruitment campaign continues after they triggered the €19m release clause in Aleksandr Kokorin's contract to bring in the Russia striker from FC Dinamo Moskva.

Kokorin, 22, has agreed an undisclosed deal with the Dagestan outfit, where he will link up with international team-mate and fellow recent arrival, Igor Denisov. Winger Aleksei Ionov and goalkeeper Mikhail Kerzhakov have also joined Guus Hiddink's team this summer.

Kokorin scored ten goals in 22 league outings last season and had been set to play at June's UEFA European Under-21 Championship before being ruled out with an Achilles injury. He signed a new deal with Dinamo earlier this year, tying him to the club until summer 2016, but will now help Anji when they enter the UEFA Europa League at the group stage.

Denisov had a falling out with Zenit over wages or something this past season, did he not? As far as Anzi's negotiating skills go, these are both shrewd signings.

He is already at Vitesse. They have first choice on players from there.

Ya, so wont be surprised if they re-loaned him back or to another Dutch club that's participating in Europe.compeition.

Players they loaned to Dutch clubs 12/13:
Amin Affane (Roda JC)
Gael Kakuta Tomas Kalas Patrick van Aanholt (Vitesse Arnhem)
Kenneth Omeruo (ADO Den Haag)

Kike Sola - Athletic Bilbao (€4m + add ons)

a92l6.jpg

Athletic Bilbao have confirmed the signing of striker Kike Sola from Osasuna, for an initial fee believed to be €4m.

Athletic were known as in negotiations for the 27-year-old since the end of last season, with the player having entered into the final year of his contract with Osasuna.

Reports this week indicated that a deal was imminent and Los Rojillos’ President Miguel Archanco reported that a provisional €4m payment plus add-ons had been agreed.

On from this, Athletic have today confirmed Sola’s capture, a decade on from having left the Basque Country outfit at youth level. The player will remain in Athletic Club the next 5 seasons and his cancellation clause will be €30 million.

Real Madrid have confirmed that they've signed Isco

After a flurry of toing and froing, Real Madrid and Málaga eventually agreed a deal worth a total of €27 million for Isco, with a basic fee of €24m and a further €3m in add-ons.

However, what has recently been revealed is that Real Madrid is set to pay the fixed €24 million over three instalments. These favourable conditions were part of the reason why 'Los Blancos' moved so quickly to snap up the youngster. The word back at the Bernabéu HQ is that "he will prove to be a worthwhile investment financially and especially on the pitch, because he's a top player. We have no doubts".

Isco is to net a €2-million-a-season wage packet, making him one of the squad's lowest earners, although his deal provides for a salary increase in each of the five years of his contract. He will also have the chance to pick up some extra dosh if he fulfils a series of performance-related objectives.

The salary bit is really where a lot of the major leagues on the continent seems to have an advantage on the Premiership isn't it? They can simply afford higher fees for players at their outlay on wages seems significantly lower relatively speaking.

I mean, Isco who's joining Real for a fee of €27M will bag a yearly salary of €2M compared too 20-year-old Cornelius joining Cardiff for around €12M and he's going to net around €2M too plus bonuses.

More than twice as expensive is Isco, about same age, and yet he'll earn slightly less than Cornelius - who's with Cardiff.

Nathan Redmond - Norwich City (undisclosed fee, reportedly £3.2 million)

redmond-ncfc-4-3132-892029_478x359.jpg

CITY can confirm the signing of exciting forward Nathan Redmond from Birmingham City on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old arrives to team up with former boss Chris Hughton, for whom he made his debut with Birmingham against Rochdale in 2010, going on to a make a total of 81 appearances for the Blues in a near four-year spell.

Redmond arrives as the Canaries’ third summer signing, following the arrivals of Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Javier Garrido.

Speaking on the move, Redmond exclusively told www.canaries.co.uk: “I'm very happy. It looks like a fantastic Club, I'm just looking forward to getting started now.

“I know that there is only one football club in this city and it has an excellent fan base. The people around the football club and in the city that I have spoken to so far have attracted me to this Club so much, it's made me realise just how much this Club means to the people of this city.”

Speaking on linking up with his former boss Chris Hughton once again, he said: “He was very influential on my career at Birmingham. He gave me the chance to play and the chance to express myself every time that I stepped on to the field and I feel like on the bigger stage he'll do exactly the same thing.

“I'd probably say I've played some of my best football under him so far. Last season was a good one for me in terms of goals and assists and just general performances. Hopefully I can continue the form that I left off with last season at Birmingham.”

City boss Chris Hughton added: “Nathan is a young and exciting player that I had the pleasure of working with at Birmingham. He is a player that was of interest to us for some time and the situation has now come about that we can get him on our terms.

“He's someone we can bring in to the forward areas and primarily has played on either wing in his career so far, but can also play off the front. He's very keen to develop his own game, he's one of these lads that likes to be on the training pitch and is usually one of the last ones off the training pitch.

“I'm sure the move won't phaze him but this is still a part of his development and one he is very much looking forward to.

Redmond developed through the Birmingham City Academy structure making his debut under then Blues boss Alex McLeish at just 16 years old. His appearance against Rochdale in the League Cup made him the second youngest player to make an appearance for the midlands club in its history.

But it was under Hughton where Redmond made his first real impact, playing a major part of the Blues’ Europa League progress that season, also helping to push the Blues’ to the Championship play-offs as they looked for promotion back to the Premier League.

Last season saw him further develop into one of the Blues’ most valuable assets, making 38 appearances in the league where he scored twice including a memorable strike against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Birmingham-born forward has also been capped at every England youth level, appearing for the under-16s to the under-21s where he made his debut for the Young Lions in this summer’s European Championships.

Scott Carson - Wigan (£700k)

Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Scott Carson from Turkish side Bursaspor on a three-year deal, after agreeing personal terms with the player.

After successfully completed a medical at the DW Stadium, the 27-year-old England international became Owen Coyle’s fifth signing in a week, during what has been a busy transfer window thus far for the Gaffer, who continues to strengthen his squad in time for the start of the new season.

Carson said: “I’m over the moon to join the club and for sorting the whole move out. Now the focus is to get my head down and start working hard in time for the new season.

“Coming into a squad with a new look to it is exciting. There are plenty of players coming in at the moment, but there are also a number of guys here who have been at the club for a long time so I’m sure they’ll help lads like myself settle in, and right now I can’t wait to start getting involved.

“Everyone talks about how tough the league is and they’re right, you have to be at your best if you’re going to come out on top and with a lot of games to play it’s going to be really demanding on us this year.”

Carson returns to England after two years in Turkey, having just helped Bursaspor qualify for the Europa League by finishing fourth in the Super Lig, with one of the fewest amounts of goals conceded during the campaign, making 29 appearances.

The keeper began his career at Leeds United in 2003, making three league appearances before moving to Liverpool in 2005, who he helped to win the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup that year.

Following loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa, he joined West Bromwich Albion in 2008, in what would become the most fruitful spell of his career.

Carson made 110 league appearances for the Baggies in three years before his move to Turkey, taking the captain’s armband in his second season at The Hawthorns and helping gain promotion to the Premier League in 2009/10, after finishing second in the Championship.

After representing England at Under 18 and Under 21 level, Carson stepped up to the senior side in 2007, and has won four caps for the Three Lions.

Marko Marin has enthused at his loan move to Sevilla and emphasised the ambition he has to make the most of his year in Spain.

The German-capped 24-year-old agreed to move across to the Andalucians last week on a season-long loan from Chelsea, after a difficult first year in London.

On from passing his medical and finalising the move, the attacking midfielder faced the media.

“I come here with more ambition than when I signed for Chelsea,” Marin explained to reporters at his presentation today.

“Sevilla is a club of tradition that I have come to for the new season with the hope of helping them return to a position in the League that they occupied not so many years ago.

“I hope to take on the role of a leader. After talking with [sporting director Monchi] and [Sevilla midfielder] Ivan Rakitic, who is also a leader in the team, I have understood the project and the philosophy of this club.

“Was I recommended to Sevilla by Jose Mourinho? This has not happened, but I have spoken to many player that have spoken of La Liga as one of the best, so I want to show my value here.”

He will join up with the team after their training camp in Austria (3 to 6 July).

"We are very pleased that in Pierre Emerick Aubameyang we were able to sign a player we really wanted. He is offensively very versatile, has a lot of pace in his game, is a threat in front of goal and will provide us with more options," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc.

The clubs have agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.

Ishak-Belfodil-Parma.jpg

Ishak Belfodil is now an Inter player. The Algerian striker with French citizenship has inked a five-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2018.

Ishak Belfodil is “very happy to be at a top club” after completing his co-ownership move from Parma to Inter.

The French-Algerian forward exchanged places with Antonio Cassano and put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth €1m per season.

Lee Martin has completed his move to Millwall after successfully undergoing a medical on Thursday morning.

Martin becomes manager Steve Lomas' third summer signing after Stephen Bywater and striker Steve Morison, and arrives at the club after his contract with Ipswich Town expired last month.

Born in Somerset, 26-year-old Lee began his career at Manchester United, gaining experience on loan at clubs such as Royal Antwerp, Rangers and Stoke City.

He joined the Tractor Boys in 2009 and went on to make 100 appearances for the Suffolk outfit, scoring six goals and providing numerous assists with his pinpoint deliveries.

Fiorentina have signed former Italy midfielder Massimo Ambrosini to a one-year deal following his release by AC Milan.

The 35-year-old's 18-year career at San Siro came to an end last month when it was decided not to extend the veteran enforcer's contract, and La Viola were quickest to move for the Marchese despite reported interest from Premier League club West Ham.

A statement published on Viola Channel read: "ACF Fiorentina have completed the signing of midfielder Massimo Ambrosini on a permanent contract - the former Italy midfielder putting pen to paper on a one-year deal until June 30, 2014."

Ambrosini won four Serie A titles, two Champions League trophies, one European Super Cup, one Club World Cup, one Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups during his time in Milan. He also made 35 appearances for Italy in a nine-year period but was not included in the 2006 World Cup-winning squad.

His arrival at the Stadio Artemio Franchi bolsters an already strong midfield that includes Alberto Aquilani, Borja Valero, David Pizarro and winger Joaquin as head coach Vincenzo Montella looks to build on a fourth-placed finish in the 2012-13 campaign.

Francis Coquelin - Freiburg (loan)

SC Freiburg have completed the signing of Arsenal FC midfielder Francis Coquelin on a season-long loan deal.

Coquelin, 22, is a versatile defensive midfielder who can also play in either full-back position. The former France Under-21 midfielder has made 21 appearances for the Gunners since joining from Stade Lavallois-Mayenne FC in 2008 and enjoyed a spell on loan at FC Lorient in 2010/11 before penning at a new deal with the north London club in 2012.

"We are pleased about Francis' arrival," said Freiburg's acting sporting director Jochen Saier. "He's a dynamic midfielder who, along with his defensive qualities, can also contribute in attack."

Freiburg finished fifth in the Bundesliga last term and will begin their UEFA Europa League campaign in the group stage, the draw for which takes place on 29 August in Monaco.

130705Kjaer002.jpg

Denmark central defender Simon Kjaer has joined French side Lille from VfL Wolfsburg on a four-year deal, the Ligue 1 club said on Friday.

Local media reported that Lille paid two million euros ($2.57 million) for the 24-year-old Kjaer, who has won 35 caps for his country.

He joined Wolfsburg from Italian side Palermo for 12 million euros ($15.40 million) in 2010.

"It is obvious that joining such a club can only be a good idea," Kjaer said in a statement released by the 2011 French champions, who finished sixth last season.

Kjaer, who spent the 2011-12 season on loan at AS Roma, will replace Cameroon's Aurelien Chedjou, who has signed for Turkish club Galatasaray.

Gary MacKenzie - Blackpool

"I enjoyed my time here last season and the three months that I had here were pretty good. It gave me a wee taste of Championship football and it kind of made my mind up of where I wanted to try and play. I've been given the opportunity to come here and do that so hopefully I can do well," he added.

MacKenzie has been handed the number five shirt.
