Cole and N'Gog

N'Gog is a youngster though Peter he is only 21, and I doubt his wages are any higher than any of the other reserves?

I think he has been coming on quite well, he can hold the ball up now and his tight control has really improved, I wouldn't like to see him off just yet.

just my opinion re: ngog. i hope i'm wrong, but i don't see much potential there myself.

i suppose i think we've got 3 quality strikers in carroll, suarez and kuyt, which leaves room for maybe one backup. personally i'd like to see that be a young player of very high potential, such as connor wickham or maybe that lad from valencia we've been linked to, pablo alcacer, which would leave no room for ngog.

if FSG really do go and sign top players, and especially top youth prospects, i don't really see where a relative plodder like ngog fits in.

We have Amoo in the reserves he has been head and shoulders above the rest of the players (Peter Crouch type joke there)

i agree with the general thinking that cole is probably a better option than maxi. i quite like maxi, and i think he's underrated, but on his bad days he's completely useless.

i'd sell all 3 of them - ngog, maxi and cole - in the summer, though. i've never seen anything at all in ngog, and can't see him ever being good enough even as a backup, so imo pretty much any fee (£3m maybe?) would be a bonus.

we need to replace them, though, unless the youngsters are much closer to being ready than we think - let's face it, suso, sterling et al look a way off in terms of physical development.

Isn't that Ngoo?

He might want to leave though, as he knows he's now back firmly at No. 4. He might get to start some of the remaining Europa League games this season because of Suarez's ineligibility and Carroll's injury, but if KK's use of Kuyt as a striker in the last 2 games is anything to go by, then N'gog has probably fallen down the pecking order.

And I think he'd be justified to seek a move to get more minutes to further his career. Even if he went on loan for a season or two, he knows he'll be coming back as a No. 3 at best at the end of that spell. I think his future probably lies somewhere back in Ligue 1 where he could probably get a regular starting role. With his improvement in these 2 seasons, we should be able to move him for a profit as well, and open a slot for a reserve player. Win-win for both sides.

I've no problems with the lad; I think his attitude is good and I'm okay with having him in the squad for the cup games or for emergency use in the league, but I don't think his future is here. He probably knows that as well.

The problem with N'Gog is he doesn't seem to have any stand out attributes. I'd like to see him loaned out though and see how he does when given a proper run of games.

I too would love to have a proper potential on the bench like the Mancs have in Hernandez. He's going to be a star I'm afraid and must have a very good goals/minute ratio already.

I can't see anything in N'gog myself, plus he is as weak as piss being pushed off the ball far too easily and not making himself felt by the opposition CB's.
Cole on the other hand, we know he can do it, and has done it, and would like to see him given a chance in a revitalised team. He has had some bad luck, the sending off on his debut, the injury and then playing catch up in a rag tag team where no one was being played in their best position.
