According to Sky.

Seems a crazy decision given Gomez is out and its not even a permanent deal.

Hmm, maybe we're signing someone then, or Hoever have been so impressive he's ready for a run out.
Milner as a possible back up?

Jesus - thinning squad at the back. Surely it is driven by the player and not the club, unless we are expecting to bring someone else in.

I don't like it but there must be the ability to call him back if we've any sense

He had a very good game against Man United and looked fit. Seems a mad decision. Maybe it's our way of saying thanks for giving us 15 million for Jordan Ibe.

I knew that something was wrong when he wasn't on the bench yesterday

Strange decision, leaving us with 1 fit RB. When Gomez comes back you'd expect him to slot back into the CB role anyway.
Can't see we'd be signing anyone for that spot either, very odd.

We have Trent, Milner, Fabs, Joe G who can play there. Clyne have played 4 games since the start 2017/18 season. So it is not that we haven't coped without him before.

Just seems pointless to loan - he's proven in the prem so any team looking at him should have no worries. I hope there is a recall clause as rotation of Trent (and rotation that doesnt involve moving JG away from centre back) will be important later in the season

Yeah it's a strange decision, there were rumours he'd asked to leave though, so maybe he's forced it rather than the club pushing him out. He'd have been essential really as cover for Robertson and TAA.

As I mentioned in the transfer thread, Solanke is close to a permanent move to Brighton as well, appaz we want 12 mill £ according to Goal.
Making room in the squad for some new players?

Maybe we are signing someone who can play RB and possibly CB. We've been linked with Éder Militão amongst others.

That would be a good move for us and for him.

I'd be surprised if we don't bring someone in, especially for defense given how short we are there and we're trying to sustain a title challenge. It'll be criminal if we don't. We've lost Klavan and Clyne, while Matip is a perma-crock, Gomez is injured again and Moreno is still fucking useless. If we lost VVD it would derail us completely.

This is as shame as it means Moreno is closer to the team if something happens to Robertson and Milner and we don't have much backup for Trent while Gomez is still injured.
Not that big of a shock though as we usually offload a couple of squad players in January. I just hope this doesn't leave the squad thin come the crunch part of the season.

Something has been really odd about Clyne's past couple of years at the club, predominantly injured with mysterious injuries. Not sure Klopp is that big a fan and I imagine he will go in the summer. Shame as I have always been a fan.

We must be bringing someone in as we only really have TAA, Gomez, Fabinho, and Milner who can play there, and for three of them that is not their natural position, despite some competent performances.
