Sanchez, Markovic and Lallana (for 17 odd million + add ons) and just maybe we keep Suarez?

Wow. Someone pinch me....

If we do all those deals Suarez is gone. That feels like a pinch in the balls to me. Lallana is happening regardless, and I think he'll be a great buy, and you'd be mad not to rate Sanchez. Know fuck all about Markovic. I'd still like a bloody good CM and some defenders though.

This thread gives me Bale/Tottenham deja vu. Didn't they sign most of their ass load of players before he left?

I'm not convinced about Shanchez

*wibble*

I still maintain that spurs handled that well enough , it's just the signings they made turned out to be crap . They knew he was going so rather than sell him and then face troubles with inflated prices as everyone knows they have money to burn , they did the deals beforehand at their own pace .

Although yeah i can imagine for their fans it was a let down after thinking they had all these players plus bale .

Yea, I can't argue with that. Ideally you want the replacements in first. It's the second part of what you said there I fear, if we start getting our hopes up that we've bought all these great players only to sell or very best. Such a come down.

Surely the Sanchez deal is only going to happen if Suarez leaves ? .

So we could have :

Suarez/sanchez
Sterling
Sturridge
Coutinho
Lallana
Markovic
Lambert
Borini
Aspas

..all fighting for 3/4 places.

Ok , Borini and Aspas will most likely leave . Even still would something else have to give ?
I guess not , we're just going to have a very competitive squad with strong depth while being able to handle more games and potential injuries.

Good mix there as well also . Sterling / markovic with pace and width if needed . Couthino , lallana to create or maybe even drop back into midfield role , especially for home games .

Let's see though if these deals really go ahead .

So if Suarez leaves, our front 6 seems to be shaping up like this:

Forwards:
1. Sturridge (full-time CF and now the undisputed alpha dog)
2. Sanchez (or Pedro or another relatively big name forward/wing forward)
3. Lambert ("Plan B")
4. Unclear (Borini or Origi, or maybe no one)

Attacking midfielders/wingers:
1. Sterling
2. Lallana
3. Coutinho
4. Markovic (or another similar top young signing)
5. Ibe and/or Teixeira

Central and defensive midfielders:
1. Gerrard
2. Henderson
3. Allen
4. Can

I'm assuming Aspas, Lucas and Suso won't be here next season.

How does this look to you? Does it make sense to have so many young AMs? Perhaps the experience of the forward line would compensate for that?

i reckon lucas will still be here next season , though how much playing time he gets if everyone is fit i'm not sure .

Apologies, mods, I had issues with wi-fi and didn't realize this message got posted into this topic too. Please see the new thread for updated post and discussion.

Lallana & Coutinho will probably fight it out for the central "tip of the triangle" role, with both able to cover the flanks too.

That leaves
Sturridge
Lambert
Sterling

(and potentially)
Markovic
Suarez/Sanchez

Fighting it out for three roles.

No love for Ibe?
