Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS)

The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database contains information on unverified reports of adverse events (illnesses, health problems and/or symptoms) following immunization with US-licensed vaccines. Reports are accepted from anyone and can be submitted electronically at www.vaers.hhs.gov

Incidence of myopericarditis overall was approximately 10 cases for every 10,000 innoculations.

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.09.13.21262182v1

So a .1% chance of getting a life threatening condition from the vaccine. That's a greater chance than of any of us dying of covid.

Here in Norway there have been 141 cases after 7,5 million jabs. So 1 in 53 000 or 0,0000188 %.
Just a few cases have developed into a life threatning condition.

I guess you wont like those numbers.

Myocarditis has a five year mortality rate of 50-60% so all cases of myocarditis are life threatening.

I think I’m reaching the conclusion that the real villain of this story is..... chicken nuggies.

Don’t mix Pfizer with chicken nuggies folks.

So recently Nicki Minaj raised concerns about vaccine side effects (her example was fucking hilarious btw) and this is what happens

Do any of the ones in NI who insist on calling it Londonderry know that there's a Derry street in London?

COVID-19: Australia deploys thousands of police officers to counter anti-lockdown protests in Sydney and Melbourne

Australia recorded 1,882 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, along with seven deaths in the latest 24-hour period, as it fights an outbreak of the Delta variant of coronavirus. Thousands of police officers have been deployed to counter anti-lockdown protests in Sydney and Melbourne, as Australia grapples with a surge in coronavirus cases. Australia recorded 1,882 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, along with seven deaths in the latest 24-hour period, fuelled by an outbreak of the Delta variant that has been causing problems since mid-June. The country had been widely praised for its response to the coronavirus pandemic, but Sydney; Melbourne; and the capital city, Canberra, all find themselves under strict lockdown.

Officers used pepper spray in an attempt to disperse a gathering of around 1,000 demonstrators in Melbourne, Australia's second-largest city. Protesters scuffled with officers in the suburb of Richmond, where the protest was located, after a last-minute change intended to evade the authorities. About 700 people managed to gather in parts of Melbourne and 235 have been arrested.

Most of the protesters did not wear face masks, defying regulations.

"Most of the protesters did not wear face masks, defying regulations." lols

I just got back from a week in fuerteventura. Pain in the arse but you have to wear a mask just about everywhere and everyone is double vaxxed. Not a single hospitalisation on the island. Must be coincidence.

Sounds good regardless. In contrast, @StevieM just got back from an equally enjoyable trip to his living room. Could explain some of the anger when you think about it.

What's going on here? Where is it?

Yes the States Govt stopped building sites from having smoking rooms and tea rooms and the tradies are very unhappy as the poor lambs now have to smoke & have cups of tea outside.

These protests are fun - I wonder if the woman with her sign saying she didn’t need a jab because Jesus will protect her was at this one.

To be fair - there’s lots of cool things around my house and more beer & wine than most bars - going outside just means I’m going to buy more.

Just remind yourself of the pizza I ate last time I was allowed out....

We don't need reminding of THAT one - thank you very much.

*feels a little sick in my mouth

The article begins :
“While data shows vaccination is reducing the rate of serious illness due to COVID-19 in Iceland,...”

https://www.icelandreview.com/socie...d-to-herd-immunity-says-chief-epidemiologist/

Wouldn’t be like Ross to take a snippet of an article and try an push a specific narrative out of context.... oh no.... definitely not.

To re-iterate the point :
“There are however indications that vaccination is preventing serious illness. Around 24 have had to be hospitalised in this wave, just over 1%. In previous waves, that figure was 4-5%. However, 2.4% of unvaccinated people that contract COVID-19 now are hospitalised.”

I wonder why Ross didn’t put a link to the article in his post....

Oopsies...

That seems to prove the Delta wave is half as lethal as previous versions Stevie.

Thanks for proving another one of my points correct.

That may be because the delta variant has taken more of a liking to young people than it's predecessor did.

You know it’s likely to be more than one thing - different strain, vaccinations, different age groups getting infected, etc

I told you before, I think Iceland is interesting - rightly or wrongly it looks like the model Australia is heading towards.

We’re seeing less deaths in this outbreak in Australia - significantly less - but we’re also seeing more infections and hospitalisations in younger and less vaccinated population than the older, more vaccinated population.

Kicking off in Melbourne today - I’m sure Ross will upload footage of protesters shortly.

State government called a snap 2 week lockdown of construction sites late last night after trouble yesterday.

Those boys really miss their tea rooms.
