Chelsea v Liverpool - pre game

Yeah that will be the team - though I'd like to see Keita it won't happen. We will win, 1-2 maybe 1-3.

Yes, that's the team, although I'd still like to see Keita start, despite not actually playing that well.

I’d like to see the Keita the camp site promised but at the moment Henderson deserves to start and Gini and Milner are obvious.

I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing that with a semi decent squad our best 11 picks itself bar one spot.

That is not the whole truth is it? It was been a busy summer and due to WC we didn't have a good preseason session. A few guys came in very late, a few guys is still settling in and a few guys have had injuries. It is telling that some of the players who has been here longest and had the whole summer off is in very good form now. But it is not given that Wijnaldum and Milner will be out best midfield pairing when we approach the xmas program. Gomez have taken his chance in others absence, but is he a given in our best XI? At his current form he deserves the chance anyway. The right back can also be his position if others take the CD spot. And we are blessed with an untouchable front three that noone really can match. They are given yes, but all of them showing sign of fatigue from a long season last as well as World cup duties we actually do have alternatives that challenge them. And not to mention left back were the two is pretty much equal. Hence you can say that now we have a good squad that actually only make the Goalie and VVD given in the starting line up, and the rest is pretty much replaceable with good alternatives.

I think Keita will start tbh. Dunno why, perhaps cos he had a couple of games off, suggests that maybe Klopp will play him the next couple of games.

I thought Keita was alright yesterday, certainly offered a good presence going forward. Henderson completely lost it to Hazard, embarrassingly so, and whilst his defensive game is usually strong, we have enough of that in Gini and Milli. Key to this game for me, is shutting down Jorginho, and super quick turn overs and counter attacks when we do that, Keita's perfect for that role imo.

Footy365 asks 5 questions about the game:

1) How much possession and territory are Liverpool willing to concede?
2) Will Liverpool’s pressing traps catch out Chelsea’s Jorginho-obsessed passing?
3) How do Chelsea add variety to their attacks without leaving themselves open?
4) Can Salah and Mane replicate Arsenal’s method of attack at Stamford Bridge?
5) Are Liverpool strong enough in defensive midfield to keep Hazard quiet?

Hendo's strength is in recycling and mopping up. If we successfully press from the top he is useful but if they bypass our press and starts running/passing around our midfield he struggles.

With Jorginho at their base I would think our high press will not be too successful. I would play Keita who can at least spring forward to attack a pretty static Jorginho.

The problem, highlighted yesterday, is that Hendo will be up against Hazard again ... and we saw Hazard stroll past him like he didn't exist at least twice. If Hendo plays you can choose, two from Keita, Gini and Milner, ahead of him.

I don't see Fabinho being in contention for this one but I disagree with some posters ... I thought he looked great in the second half and his passing out from the DM position (and strength on the ball) is ace. He is also a good tackler. He will come good.

If Hendo and Fabinho don't play that leaves Gini (as DM), Milner and Keita as our midfield triumvirate. Keita was superb in attack yesterday, he goes past people like he's a ghost and has such a deft touch that his layoffs are spot on 9/10, I don't blame him one iota for Hazard's goal, he had just had a Yellow and had he brought Hazard down it's likely that would have been his second and Off. I doubt many thought Hazard was going to score from there.

I expect to see Millie & Gini doubling up on Hazard, and making sure they support the full backs.

Exciting game - I think we can go big here.

Too much overconfidence going into this game. Making me feel all a bit uneasy.

That dude Hazard just scored a worldly against us. I’ll show them a bit of respect and then beat them properly with our A game.

Yes .. but you're forgetting the fact that we are going to hump them dry then turn them over and urinate all over their twitching bodies

Looking forward to this match so much it has the potential to ruin my entire week

At least you have the option to enjoy Saturday up until 5.30pm. Nothing worse than us losing lunch time Saturday. You can't even enjoy the 3pm kick offs.
