Can't remember if I saw it earlier in this thread or elsewhere, but there was a report which said he followed Stevie on to the pitch into the Liverpool half at the end of half-time, before changing direction and going back over to the Chelsea players.

I think it's in this thread. I'd love to see it again to see if he actually did that.
It's such a sad state of affairs, he shouldn't have left us and I think he'll regret it. Hopefully, and probably, we won't.

I'd hazard a guess that part of him has regretted it all along (though he'll never admit it of course, possibly not even to himself). I'd lay odds that his agents had a lot to do with making the move happen.
Still, the answer was in his own hands all along, and he didn't use it.

He came to a crossroads where he could have the tangible, but perhaps hollow, glory in the form of medals with Chelsea. Or he could have had legendary status with fans who genuinely adored him at a club with a soul and history.
I suspect he panicked and wanted to get his hands on some medals. I hope they comfort him when he's old and retired, while nobody at Liverpool gives him a second thought anymore, and the classless fans at Chelsea don't regard him as different to any other.
It's sad really.
