Would you still take that draw?

You're astonishingly negative considering you're a fan of a side that's only lost once in the league in 18 months.

Yeah, he is negative, but that was a horrid second half and we didn't deserve three points

It's amazing we won, really. And fucking brilliant.

I had a bad feeling about this game beforehand, Chelsea still have lots of good players, and fearless, very talented youngsters. The last 15 minutes we just gave up trying to control the ball and the game.

But I'll take it any day of the week.

It was indeed, but I don't get the whole 'the sky is falling' negativity when we don't play to the incredibly high standards we usually do, cos we still grind out wins a lot more often than not.

Yeah, but we can't grind out wins every week and still expect to win every week

(Although we did it quite often last season, admittedly)

Watching that Kante goal again is not at all great viewing for Fabinho.

Absolutely shocking
Yeah, he just watches him like he's expecting someone else to step up, when he's right there, it's niave at best.

I'm hoping it's a symptom of the malaise many of them seemed to suffer from, that midweek game was hard as fuck, & it told in how tired they were today.

I'm just really glad we're not away from home in the CL game before we play City in a few weeks.

Ferguson's United used to do that shit all the time.
Yep. Last season we lost the fa cup tie after a loss, getting that momentum back was tricky, no matter how we played today, we've got the momentum & confidence back straight away.

Not to mention burnt Guardiolas head out in the process!

Exactly, Im not gonna lie I was nervous as hell watching that at the end but even champoins have to have days like this. And we got a nasty away match out of the way too. Players looked knackered especially around 60 mins...Out game revolves around high intensity so when that drops a little we lose a little form our A game but we adapted and our defensive part of the team did what a defence should do

Phew... can't remember seeing us put under that much pressure in a long time. For whatever reason, we just couldn't keep hold of the ball; everything bounced off Bobby and Salah got no joy out of Zouma after he came on. There was no one on the bench who could have helped in that department – would have been nice to bring in Origi and Keita. So we had to win the hard way – absorbing wave after wave and defending for our lives. Matip, Adrian and Robbo were tremendous and I thought Trent had probably his best defensive display in months. This was a proper test and with some luck we passed it. 6 out of 6, baby!

Yes that was painful to watch at times, but if you look at the overall game - I would say:
  • we won the first half, and
  • we also won most of the second half until they scored
That game in terms of its momentum was not unlike the Napoli away game. Chelsea's players are some of the best in the PL, despite the transfer ban, and this game was never going to be easy, Man City lost last season at the same ground.

Any team going for the title has to play and win these dodgy games - or rather grind out results - the problem we have is that the "Other Team" has won the league with relative ease in the last two seasons - they are either fucking brilliant in the way they play and win or lose for inexplicable reasons but never do they look like they grind out a result or the less dominant side unless they play us.

Also top marks to our defence overall, and I think Adrian is proving to be world class for us with his saves. The guy has been first class, and I can forgive him for his early mistakes because neither he or any of us or the LFC team expected him to be in goal so early on in the season - the guy has oozes confidence. The biggest worry for me was the lack of cohesion between the front three, as it was the other night - was it just me or did the grass look as bad as it did at the Napoli ground ? - Salah and Mane were terrible, and Bobby was not that great either - that said ... still one of the fab three manages to score - so who the fuck am I to have a go at the fab 3 ?

10 points ahead of Utd after 6 games. Gonna walk into work tomorrow like a baws...

Sky Sports' Martin Tyler is a despicable bigot. He loves Manchester United and he hates Liverpool. His commentary on today's match was like sitting next to a Chelsea supporter. He claimed the VAR decision to disallow Chelsea's goal was "pedantic" although the player was a foot more offside than Spurs disallowed goal on Saturday. He said that Chelsea deserved an equaliser without providing any evidence for this claim.

Lampard deserves a fair bit of credit too. Forced to use two of his subs early. Goal chalked off by VAR and then we score at the other end almost right after.

One hell of a half time talk to ensure that team's mentality is right in the second half. And we started the second half brightly before they took it over.

Aren't these the type of games that challenge the mentality of the players. Its good to know we can hold a lead, or even come back from a goal behind.
Im pleased at the outcome
