We lack depth...

And we just can't seem to buy a decsion againt the top teams...

That being said..... We have 7 out of the top 8 to play at home in the 2nd half of the season... and decent run of games in the new year... A few signings and we are right back in it.. (top 4 contention not the title)

I dont think it was pathetic. We look tired and had nothing on the bench that could change the game.

Hull in 3 days will be some scrappy match. Must win, tired legs and loads of injuries. Yay!! 🙁

Oh, and the refereeing standard in the PL is a joke. Horrendous.
We should have 2 points instead of 0 after the last two games. Or at least the opportunity to score from the penalty spot.

Webb is a joke. Awful. Shite. A fucking cheat imho.

So many injuries.
Sakho, Gerrard, Sturridge, Enrique, Allen would all start and drastically improve the team.

Mourinho is a nobhead

I hated that match

We need to look into our fullback situation

obviously tough back to back away games to city and chelsea ,especially without gerrard and sturridge, but pity we didn't get anything at all .
hopefully our heads don't drop now we've fallen to 5th and have a few injuries .

I don't have too much sympathy on the "lack depth" argument . Ok it may be true but rodgers added alot to the squad during the summer yet now doesn't seem to trust most of them . It was similar last year also . And again who from the summer has come in an made a difference ? Sadko and Mingolet are the only ones to get in the team and even then they seem to be still settling / shaky at times .

anyway for the second half of the season i would like to see two major things addressed . The defence obviously , we have to start keeping clean sheets . Fuck , if rodgers can't do it he should look to get someone into the coaching team who can .

And then we have to look at getting better results in the big games , especially in such a tight season . Rodgers record is piss poor in the big games . It's what , 3 wins in 18 or something (Binny ? )

Can we have another one of those threads that asks who are best 11 players are........if only a season is decided with 11 players 🙄

We looked jaded and Chelsea were the better team. We could've and should've walked away with a point though. Very very frustrating.

We need to buy in Jan.

A glimmer of hope. We have Hull next while Everton travel to Stoke and United play Spurs.

We were unlucky not to beat City and could have scraped a draw here. Luck not with us when we needed it. However, 6 points off the top with a +21 GD and 6 of the Top 8 yet to come to Anfield. Who would not have taken that at the beginning of the season ? The fact we are competitive with every team in the league .... and expect to beat them .... says it all.

we always need to buy ! . We spend fuck loads and don't get the return .

I was afraid this would happen. We spent too much energy in the City game; Chelsea had more left in the tank and have way more quality options to rotate/rest players.

Possibly a mistake by Rodgers to keep the same starting 11 (except the forced LB situation) for 3 games in a row in such short period of time. We play a high-energy brand of football and it's simply impossible for players to maintain the same energy level playing 3 matches in 8 days. I am worried about the Hull game.

It was their performance of the season, it wasn't ours, but it was 2 very good goals that undid us not any sort of consistent threat from Chelsea. They had a couple more shots, resulting in 1 more on target, only a tad on possession, and were lucky to not be down to 10 at some point with at least 1 penalty not given (let's not forget Terry's assault on Suarez). We had a key injury in Allen who was playing well before again being assaulted by the rapist, and a 19yo debutante was about the best we could throw on from our worryingly short bench. We were robbed of at least a point by officials. It wasn't a shit display like some are claiming, only Johnson and Smith were poor.

Some thoughts:

Mignolet needs extra wanking practice, his wrists are made of marshmallow
Agger is fucking shit, and extra shit at left back/wing back
Johnson can't defend and is going backwards on his attacking play, utter shite 2 games running
Allen might be blowing his only big chance
Sterling went back to the sterling of last season, shit
Suarez never looks like scoring against the big teams against proper defenders, isolated again today

I console myself here by thinking that we got the 6 points which I thought would be reasonable and acceptable over the tough 4-game stretch from Spurs to Chelsea, although I was expecting us to collect the points by beating Cardiff and getting 3 away draws instead of beating Spurs and losing to Chelsea and City. So I'll just imagine that was what actually happened.

As for the guys chewing up Smith in the match thread, well done. So accommodating of a young player coming into a very difficult situation in the game for his debut. But no... let's burn him because he didn't do well.

so Mourinho reckons that wasn't a penalty but a yellow card for Suarez, "looks like someone shot him in the back"

Agger is to blame for all the goals.
Lucas was shite
Mignolet is better than Reina
Smith was MOM

Did I win?

We need to buy well ... This window is key to keeping our run on 1-4th alive, and we can ill afford fuck ups.

That is the key. We spent money on Aspas that is looking like a waste at the moment.

On the match itself, we lost it in the first half with some awful passing, first touches and positioning. I feared for the worst when the second went in.

We played much better football in the second half but we were still carrying a passenger or two so could not deliver the killer blow. My biggest worry is a mounting list of injuries and an unravelling season with a series of uninspiring draws.

But onwards and upwards, redmen!

The Hull game will be tough as hell. They're shit to play against and we're tired, jaded, injured and lost twice on the bounce. We hate playing against a Steve Bruce team and have to win.
Gerrard will return imho with Allen out. Shame about Sakho - hope he's back quickly.

No mate, 2nd place ... Mors wins by saying Sterling was shit ... he actually played really well, but had no one in the box most times to get a ball to ... and the shit about Suarez is silly - he wasn't given any real service again, and any time he was ,he was assaulted ... i mean he dove, and should have got yellow cards
