CAS is the daddy with these anyway isn't it? I thought they were just going through the motions appealing to Fifa, if CAS say there's no ban, then Fifa will do as they're told.

Higuain has signed on loan until the end of the season and there's an option included for the loan to be extended through to the end of next season or for a permanent deal in the summer.

There's question marks over what would happen to the Argentine. Chelsea wouldn't be allowed to register him for the new campaign as per the rules regarding the ban, but does that mean he heads back to Juventus as a result?

It's not an 18-month loan deal which has been mooted, so technically Higuain's loan comes to an end at the end of the current campaign and the Blues would have the option as to whether they want to pursue it further.
