Know it's still early but hey, we're defending Champions! 😀

The teams in Pot 1 are now confirmed, while provisional pots can be drawn up for the others (though the teams in bold are guaranteed to be in that pot) based on the highest-ranked clubs progressing through qualifying.

POT 1: Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit St Petersburg

POT 2 (provisional): Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto*, Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli, Shakhtar Donetsk, Ajax*

POT 3 (provisional): Benfica, Dynamo Kiev*, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Salzburg, Valencia, Inter Milan, Celtic*

I always believed in him. I actually said that he'd be paired up with Van Dijk when he was signed instead of Lovren. Gomez came from nowhere...surprised us all to some extent

Wow, number 6. Fantastic result. It wasn't the greatest of games, spurs had the vast majority of the ball without being able to do anything with it in the final 3rd. Allison had to make a couple of good, but routine saves when spurs started to get their act together. We just didn't seem to be able to get anything going at all, maybe stage fright. The penalty was harsh, but, what do you expect if you have your arm in that position in the box when the ball is flying about. Tough titties.
We showed again last night that we're now capable of playing different way. If we didn't have Virgil and Allison in goal last night though, we'd have lost no doubt about it. They've made such a massive difference to us at the back.
Be interesting now to see what we do in the summer re transfers, considering we should be rolling in cash after 2 successive finals. I still think we need a forward, no.10, CB, and cover for Robertson. We've got to push on now and have the same sort of quality on the bench that city have.

Did Mane aim for the arm? It looked like it to me.

Not that it matters really, but it's a that sort of quick thinking which can make all the difference on nights like this as Trdnt has already shown.

As a funny aside. I went completely bonkers with my anti jinxy vibe. So did my wife and son. We moved all the furniture around just so it wasn't the same as last year. My lad wore a Griffindor scarf while I wore a Sydney Rabbitoh's one (my Oz buddy gave it to me years ago if he promised me he would support the Reds) - I got a text from Oz about 5am saying it was all him but he's so proud that he supports the Redmen! I've had a ton of messages who are very cool stuff and congrats. I've also got about 20 cousins in Madrid whould the vibe was sound and the Spurs fans were graceful in defeat but happy to mingle and be sound.
 
What a night. The game played out pretty much as I expected it to, in terms of two teams over-familiar with each other being very tactical and frustrating, but we kept going. Becker, Virgil, Matip, Hendo, Milner, Robbo, Trent, Origi. Wow. Heroes all over the pitch. Good substitutions, well-timed. The ref was so ridiculously fussy before the pen I thought it was going to unnerve Mo, but he did it. Moreno made Josemi seem shy and retiring. Great celebrations. Thrilled for Klopp. Six times - wow!
 
What a fantastic feeling! Made up for Klopp especially, a monkey off his back for sure. I reckon we go bigger and better still now with the confidence this triumph brings.

I've watched the game again. It's even better (how could it not be) knowing that you win!!
