They made the balls hard to open for comedic value.
Those kidders at UEFA are a laugh a minute.
Biggest load of shite I've seen on telly.
Football Glee.

Tricky games before & After our UCL games.

But damn how boring CL is these days. And it's not just because we aren't in it. There aren't too many matches I'm looking forward to watching. If only it would be knockout phase from the beginning.

Group A: Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Sociedad - it will be a tough battle between Shakhtar and Sami's team to qualify. I'm sure United will qualify, but I wouldn't be surprised if they only got 2nd place, mainly because Moyes is a novice in CL.

Group B: Real Madrid, Juventus, Galatasaray, FC Copenhagen - boring. 2 friendlies between the giants and easy qualification

Group C: Benfica, Paris St-Germain, Olympiakos, Anderlecht - by far the weakest group. PSG should stroll it.

Group D: Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, Manchester City, Viktoria Plzen - CSKA has a decent record in Europe and they are tough to beat, Man City are favorites, but it might be harder than they expect. Bayern will win the group easily, of course.

Group E: Chelsea, Schalke, FC Basel, Steaua Bucharest - boring and uninspiring

Group F: Arsenal, Marseille, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli - the group of death. Dortmund will qualify for sure and I would bet on Rafa over Wenger.

Group G: FC Porto, Atletico Madrid, Zenit St Petersburg, Austria Vienna - no big names, but a lot of quality and ambition in this group. Austria are outsiders, the rest is completely unpredictable.

Group H: Barcelona, Milan, Ajax, Celtic - Barca seems to play these teams every year, but I actually like this group - lots of little side-plots here and every team presents a very different challenge for Barca. Milan is inconsistent, so Ajax and Celtic have chances to qualify.

=====

For the by far the most interesting groups will be A and F and I might also watch some games from groups D and H. Don't really care about the rest.

But if I remember correctly the article said that we drop significantly this season by virtue of not competing in Europe at all.
The article was about the merits of playing the Europa League even if it meant using the "Fair Play" route to enter

Yes, we will be ranked 30-something next season apparently.

When I look at the teams in there, and where we are currently languishing it's painful.
We can't even finish 4th in the league. Fucking 4th!
Strange days.

The Premiership is pretty competitive these days. You look at the Europa League draw and think even a team like Swansea have a decent shout at progressing. And Spurs have to be one of the favourites.

It saddens me a bit, even now, when I thought I'd stopped feeling so much about this soulless non entity of a business that was once a proud famous football club.
