He hasn't been on his best, best form for a good 18 months, but he's still a cut above most Premiership footballers.

When Arsenal buy a proper defensive midfielder I'm sure they'll see the best of him.

Cesc is a good player with bags of potential. He's ridiculously overhpyped though. He's also far from the finished product and I think his temperament is suspect, maybe due to age. Having said all that, he'd get games for us with or without Xabi.

so he'd be perfect alongside Mascherano.

If we got Cesc in, I'd be delighted. I'm surprised Madrid having gone back for more this season - I wonder what Arsenal told them last time.
