Just got a text from a manc supporting 'mate', saying that he was right all along that Hyypia made Carra look good.

Would you agree with that?

I mean his performance tonight was a bit disgraceful and he has caused me a lot of grief since the start of the season. Bar the united game, he has been arguably the worst player this season.

I hope he doesn't get back into the team after his suspension.

Total bollocks!

Hyppia and Carra hasn't been our first choice pairing for quite a about 3 seasons now.

When the alternative is the woeful Skrtel it doesn't really look good for us.

We need a new centre back on top of a back up striker, a left winger, a back up goalie and a left back that is.

carra needs a ball player next to him. he looks better balanced that way but i wouldn't put anything that happened today down to carra.

I'm worried about his pace. This season he's been in far too many situations where he's nearly caught out, only to be saved by some fairly debatable last minute challenges.

Carra is certainly not the player he was last season. Some bench time will do him good. Injuries to key players are costing us without adequate back up!

Carragher and Agger is our best partnership by miles.

Then Agger and Skrtel.....

Then Carragher and Skrtel....

Todays was surley a last resort.

That is a gigantic load of irony that you Manc "friend" is selling you. See Vidic covering for Rio and making him actually look a good player.

Yeah, Zlatan, and I've said that you're a fucking no-mark clueless cunt all along, but conversely, most people *do* believe it

Yeah but one of the plus points of the site is the tolerance of the fucking no-mark clueless cunts...

He is still the best CB at the club.
He takes on huge responsibility and is a leader on the pitch.
He is also a player who is suffering a huge dip in form, the biggest of his career perhaps.
But he was great against United and he was OK yesterday.

I have one or two manc mates of the opinion he is past it too, but I think that is wide of the mark.

His form is a massive concern.
More concerning is Skrtel turning out to be shite, Zorba being shite and Milky being made of calcium deficiency.

It should be Carra OR Skrtel NOT Carra & Skrtel. 1 no nonsense defender and 1 ball playing defender (Agger) is the way it should be, and Kyrgiakos doesn't has a place in the squad!

Yes he does. Four CBs are a must, he's fourth choice, he's not THAT bad and you're not going to get better than him that far down the pecking order at any club.

Exactly. I think some people won't be happy unless we have Baresi and Beckenbauer in their primes as our 7th choice centre back pairing.

That's been the case throughout is career.

I'd be more worried about his dreadful decision-making and total lack of concentration.

Skrtel isn't shite. But we should expect this from you to be honest. He'll be 'world class' again in 2 weeks time.

Nowadays he keeps on getting caught on the wrong side of attackers with mental lapses.. and in true Vidic-fashion, he just hauls them down. Like yesterday, and after the fallout of the United game, I think refs will be watching out for this more attentively with Carra in particular, and there will be a lot more red cards around the corner for him.

Actually, I feel bad about that now. Sorry Oncy.
[/quote]Dont worry. As ive said in the past, you get what you expect from most posters, im rarely suprised.
Ive never been a skrtel fan, and i doubt i ever will be. Agger is a much better player.

You have a point, but considering injuries are forcing us to play them it's important that they actually be good.

The 'what do you expect for a 4th choice CB' doesn't wash when they're actually getting games.

It wasn't him being shit that I was complaining about it's the fact that he's the wrong "type" of back up defender we need . We should have 2 ball playing defenders and 2 no nonsense defenders but at the moment we have only one ball playing defender and 3 no nonsense defenders, Kyrgiakos is (unfortunately for him) the mistake in this formula.
