After those impressive England performances his stock has diminished significantly hasn't it?

Injuries?

Or just not that good?

15M is a lot of money. That's what Chelsea paid for Anelka.

I'd want a better class of player and one that doesn't have a long history of getting injured.

He's got a pretty long history of not being a very good finisher too

I think he went through a purple patch, like Zamora has done recently. He'd be better in the lone striker role than Wash, I guess, but he's not worth anything like £15m.

Skysports.com understands West Ham striker Carlton Cole is a surprise target for German giants Bayern Munich.

Cole has caught the eye of Bayern's scouts after impressing for West Ham over the last few seasons.

The former Chelsea man has netted nine goals this season and he has established himself in Fabio Capello's England plans.

Bayern are thought to be keen on reshaping their ageing squad and Cole is one of a number of players on their summer shopping list.

Cole, who is believed to have attracted the interest of Arsenal and Liverpool during the January transfer window, is a key member of Gianfranco Zola's squad and has been instrumental in their recent improved form.

The 26-year-old's priority is believed to be on securing West Ham's survival and pushing for a place in England's squad for this summer's World Cup finals.

West Ham would be loath to lose Cole, but could face a battle to keep hold of the powerful frontman if Bayern follow up their interest this summer.

After tonights performance would I shite. He was getting a hard time from the West Ham fans to. From the few I talked to tehy where saying he's a lazy bastard.

Many good attributes as a striker - strong, quick and powerful but he blows hot and cold all too frequently.

I think he could make the step up to a top 8 team though.

ha ha

*sobs*

I don't think he's a bad player but if we had that kind of money I think we could probably do better.

Having said that maybe he would improve at a bigger club. How old is he now? Seems like he's been around a while.
