This time last year we were running out of legs and switched focus to the CL. This year the squad looks stronger than at any point in the season. Just take each game as it comes and play them on merit, not with a grand masterplan of swapping players in and out.

7 games from arguably our greatest season ever, its not the time to start being too clever.

Au Contraire it is very likely. They have received a mighty shock to their system and the next two matches are now as much a test of mentality as skill and technique.
the problem with playing a season where most teams rollover for you is that when they don't you might not have the verve necessary to call upon.

No it’s not. They might fuck up but it’s most certainly unlikely.

I think the team pretty much picks itself, same midfield as Chelsea, probably the usual back 4 too. I suspect a few changes will come in the next game vs Huddersfield (which I will get to see in person, wo-hoo!). Subs bench is where it gets interesting; Mignolet, Wijnaldum and Milner will be there for sure, but after that it will be deciding which 4 out of 8 of Gomez, Lovren, Moreno, Lallana, Ox, Shaqiri, Sturridge and Origi won't make the matchday squad. It's good to have everyone healthy, but it will make for some difficult omissions and I won't even try to anticipate what Klopp will ultimately decide.

------------------Alisson------------------
Trent-----Matip-----Van Dijk--Robbo
------------------Fabinho-----------------
-----------Hendo---------Keita----------
--Salah---------Firmino--------Mane--

No Sturridge will...

Yep. Origi is on the verge of a new contract and has a future, Sturridge has had chance after chance and has seemingly finally fallen out of favour as sub.

I'm guessing the subs will be Mignolet, Gomez, Milner, Gini, Origi, Shaqiri and AOC, eventually anyway. The two players that could go either way as far as making the bench are probably Shaqiri and Lovren. Milner can cover alot of positions, we only need one centre half on the bench (and Gomez is the more versatile) and then AOC and Shaqiri are vying for the same place (as is Lallana).

Works fine. Ta.

No way we concede three today. I'd we did, VVD would be strangling his fellow defenders on the pitch, even if we did still win.

I keep meaning to rewatch that season recap, it's in sharp contrast to us this season in so many ways. I bet a fair few of this seasons players wish that sides opened up that much against us that they could counter like that, but by being so solid defensively you lose that particular advantage.

Cardiff have everything to play for. Has banana skin written all over it.

Except they really could use a win based on goal difference with Brighton.

A draw is not all that helpful. May open them up more even if they withstand early pressure in first 20.
