Good choice. Excellent pro, obviously respected by teammates, growing in responsibility each season, getting better as a player each season, better when Gerrard wasn't on the pitch.
 
He does look a little bit like a rabbit in headlights to be fair, but I think it did the job anyway.

 
I'm well pleased for him. I'm a big fan of Hendo. He does so much work that goes a little unnoticed I always feel. Based on nothing I have a feeling the captaincy will make even better. Good luck to him.
 
That's not based on nothing though, cos he's a much better player all round when he's the main man in the centre of the pitch.

Giving him the captaincy is like that with bells on. If he ever had an issue of feeling like Gerrard's understudy (which I think was evident), then this blows that away.

It should be massively self-affirming for him & I expect him to improve as a result.
 
He's also gong to be on the front cover of FIFA 16 (well the UK and Ireland version). Congrats capitan!

I wouldn't go that far, but he does look to me like an actor who's learned his lines rather than someone doing something which comes naturally to him.

Still think he's the best choice for the job though.

How was Henderson bricking it in that standoff? Costa is the one who walked away with his tail between his legs. Just because he looks like he's 45 and he likes to step on people doesn't make Costa tough.

Yea I'd agree with this, maybe shitting it was a bit strong.

He looks like he done it instinctively, then has an 'oh shit' moment.

Still love him though.
