Clichy is faster than Johnson and Insua.

+1.

You'd think Johnson was Usain Bolt, the way Spider is going on. He's not nearly as quick as Clichy. I doubt he's even quicker than Gerrard. He's quick enough, but not lightning (more a strong/powerful runner ala Gerrard). Comparing him to Clichy is like comparing Stevie to Nando.

Anyway, what he does possess is good dribbling skills, a good cross and a good shot, which with space Kuyt creates coming inside, should give us better, more incisive delivery from the right.

I remember against Villa this year when someone made a weak backpass and Arbeloa was in. Instead of taking on the keeper and having a 50-50 chance of scoring, he bottled it and looked for the most outrageous cutback to Torres. That pissed me right off and has stuck in my mind when it comes to his quality going forward. Johnson would have gone for the shot as he has more faith in own ability. It's little situations like that where we'll hopefully reap more rewards this season.

..that I reckon there's a good chance Glen Johnson could turn out to be the buy of the Season in England.

I'm so thrilled with this signing that it's unreal.

That's all.

Did he even sign yet? Whats holding things up?

Without sounding like a moany git...

I'm delirious that we've spent all that money (and all those wages apparently) on a near £20m full back. Especially as that was not an area that was priority for strengthening.

So what if he's England's best right back. He's only got Gary Neville for competition.

If he's succesful then its money worth paying, if he's not then I can think of plenty who will turn on the manager for signing him - even more so if we don't strengthen the other areas we need to.

We've seen players paraded at city though. Maybe hes back on hols for the time being.

Personally, I'm not convinced he's the best LB at Liverpool right now, so forgive me if I don't get so excited. Good player, English (which seems to be important), sensible lad apart from the toilet lid stealing, and young enough to become a stalwart.

He's a RB, Doc. Been on the ale?

I'm happy enough with Johnson, and am looking forward to seeing him play for us.

But regardless of how easily he fits into the side, there's no way 18M for a right-back can ever ever be described as 'the buy of the season.'

Stick with your convictions spidey. Don't let them bully you...and don't follow Brendan like a sheep, stop with the shitty name-calling.

Considering he's been terrific from his very first game, he's become a ridiculously cheap target for the usual cuntish ex-pro football crowd in the media.

Having just seen him have another excellent game I'm amazed to switch on the radio to hear the co-presenters banging on endlessly how defensively naive he is. twats.

its not a case of sticking with your convictions, insewer is as slow and fuck and one of the worst crosses of the ball I've seen in a while. hopefully rafa will stop the insewer 'experiment' and play auelio at left back.
