West Ham's Davenport suffers serious injuries in stabbing


LONDON, Aug 22 (Reuters) - West Ham United defender Calum Davenport underwent surgery for serious injuries on Saturday after being stabbed on Friday night, the Premier League club said.

The 26-year-old centre back and his mother both received stab wounds at home in Bedford late on Friday evening, the club said in a statement on their website (www.whufc.com).

Davenport's mother is recovering while the West Ham player's injuries were described as serious by doctors.

"The club's medical team are in contact with hospital staff," the club said, adding that "due to the ongoing police investigation, no further information will be released at this time."

There's no more info about this on the WHU forums. Strange that, were it Liverpool we'd know exactly why it'd happened.

There's reports that he's been stabbed in both legs, & also the fact his dad isnt mentioned points in that direction.
 
How can the perpetrator bend low enough to stab him in the legs without getting an almighty boot in the head?

Some area's of Bedford aren't that bad HC... certainly 100 times better than Luton. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Pretty much all of it. I feel safer walking round Brixton than I do round Bedford. Proper small town mentality place.

I didn't know he was from there though, that makes him and Andy Johnson that are from Bedford

Yup, you hear about a disproportionate amount of horrible little cunts in the place too.

Bedford oasis is alright when you're like 5 though.
 
My mate saw a bloke get murdered there. He was walking home after training and he saw this gang of utes giving some poor fucker a right hiding. Him and his mate sort of stepped in, but by that point it was too late.

I think it might have made national press or summink. Guy was care in the community, tried to help out the girl who was getting a beating off the boyfriend, and then the two of them and their mates kicked the poor fucker to death.

He testified and they went down, the horrible junkie cunts
