In other, far less important but far more true news, me and the lads from my team went to a boozer after our pre-season game today. We discussed a new formation and tactics for the upcoming season... We're switching from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, you see. It went well.
And I think one of the lads had a fish sandwich. I'll check with some of the boys and confirm that later... If any of you called the boozer for us, we asked the staff not to pick up the phones. Sorry 'bout that.

In some more pointless news, me and my mates played 5 aside against some Everton academy lads (they were 16-17ish) today.
Ha, they were so good - but we managed to win 14-12 despite chasing shadows for 50 minutes and having about 10 hours sleep between us. It was also my first game of footie in 2 years!
Closest I'm ever going to come to a proper derby match, so muhahaha!

It was my idea actually Stu...
One of our two CBs like to wander up the pitch for no apparent reason - He's oft as likely to be beyond our midfield as behind them, so I pushed him out to the left, leaving the CB who stays home to stay home, installed a fifth, deep lying MF to fill the gap he'd left and had our two wide men getting up and down like a whore's knickers.
Overall, it worked well, and I'm excited about the upcoming season.
