Bild reporting that Gundogan wont sign a new contract. Do we have a chance?

Also linked with Timo Werner

Would love to see him join, we only need one new midfielder for me, and he would be perfect.

Liverpool FC transfer rumours: Reds to get another free signing from the Bundesliga? Plus, Betis goalkeeper targeted

Havard Nordtveit of Borussia Moenchengladbach takes part in a training session
Liverpool could complete ANOTHER free transfer from the Bundesliga in the coming weeks, that's according to reports today.

Indeed, after Jurgen Klopp completed the signing of Joel Matip earlier this week, German outlets have him snapping up another bargain.

The Reds are said to be interested in bringing former Arsenal man Havard Nordtveit, the Norwegian international is out of contract at the end of the season and look

I've seen and read the Nordtveit links. Not sure about that one. Versatile but not sure if he will improve us that much.
Squad player so that must mean both Allen and Lucas are off if we get him.
Great to have a Norwegian in the side again mind

I know nothing about him at all. Seems he's a hard-working, versatile midfield type with good energy?

We could be looking at quite the midfield overhaul in the summer.

Yeah, thats about right. He can play RB, CB, DM and MC. Hard working, decent passer and has a good shot on him (4 goals so far this season).
As JJ says, not sure if this is any point if he wont improve what we already have.

Not Bundisliga, but we've been linked again with Dennis Praet, the young Anderlecht AM. Anybody know if he's worth the 20+ million they're saying he'll cost? Do we need him?

From Klopp's comments we're looking for a winger with some experience. Someone like Karim Bellarabi seems to fit that profile better.

I have heard it said that when Klopp implements his gegenpressing system, which we are unlikely to see in full effect until next year, the favoured tactic of the opposition is to hit the ball long to relieve pressure. As a result Klopp likes tall quick technical players who can win those high balls back and recycle possession. Makes sense obviously, and so far hes signed Grujic 6'3.5 and Matip 6'4. wouldnt be at all surprised if he wants to replace a couple of dwarfs like Allen and Lucas with a squad player who cant be so easily bypassed.

Signing Caulker, even on loan, at 6'3 backs this up. His preference for height is probably more acute in the EPL with the nature of the game.

Bild and a couple of other German media outlets reporting that City have bid 39 mill £ for Xhaka

I hope we continue to sign big/taller players, we have too many small players who get outmuscled or out jumped in contests. The more height should hopefully help with set pieces both sides of the field.

Bellarabi would be good, another winger from the bundesliga who has some talent is Herrmann. Kevin Kampl is also not a bad player from the few times I've seen him play.

One player we should be all over as he will be a star and is already very good is Kevin Volland. Sane as well but everyone already knows about him.

Oh well. At least they can't buy *everyone*. It was inevitable that a huge amount of cash would be given ti Guardiola, and with Toure going, and Fernando/ Fernandinho being erratic, I'm expecting at least two new huge midfield signings for them.

Pogba seems like he'll join them, or Barcelona.

They were linked with Busquets (contract raise talk?)

I would think if it's between us and them, it's basically 'trophies, pep & $$$' vs 'potential trophies, klopp and $'

I want Gundogan. Its been confirmed that he'll leave Dortmund I think as he wont sign a new contract.

He would be perfect, however he's only 5"11, so he's officially too short for the new Klopp regime.

Well, Klopp signed him for Dortmund, with great success. I think the height thing has to do mostly with centre-backs anyway. And it's not just height but aerial ability as well. Dortmund's pair Hummels and Subotic both have consistently superior aerial duel stats than any of our CBs in recent years.
