I am getting to old for this I really am. Did not consider in the slightest I was doing a wrong here and then the formal mail in my inbox at work. Pissed me right off.

Going to take a break from this place, loads of great lads and I will miss it but I am finding myself too often in the middle of less fruitful debates at the mo. Even ruined my otherwise nice dinner 🙂

A true landmark moment in SCM history this one. Someone gets an official warning to their work email address for "bumping a thread", and then decide they can't handle the rejection and leave the site.

Whilst I agree to some extent about bumping old threads, this is not one of them. This thread could easily be discussed further without starting a new one.

And its Kris, one of the most respected posters on here whose been here since the start. A simple reply in the thread about bumping threads for the future would be enough.

I made a bit of fun of Ross and his never ending Suarez rubbish the other day, and wuptidoo, I got an official warning 24 hours later for doing fuck all.

Pathetic. No matter how you address it. The initial post is 2 month old like and just as relevant now as it was back then. It was a perfect valid bump and that we are even having this discussion is laughable.

I don't know what fun of me you made, so I can categorically state that the thread bump warning has nothing to do with it.

A warning is of little consequence, it's a reminder of the rules that are in place. But you've massively overreacted.

I have got a warning from Ross because I dumped this thread. Inappropriate Behavior indeed.

It was a real warning. And he is seriously refering to some paragraph.

Hillarious and kind of pathetic too and kind of ruining the forum for me at least. Time to give good ol 6CM a rest before Ross digs up another petty insult. Or ban me for talking to much about football.

I've got several warnings. Mostly for trolling. Can't say what I think about it because that might be trolling as well.

Trolling is different. It's posting the same shit over and over with the intention off pissing someone off. And to be fair Modo, I think you're a good guy and all that, but you do troll a lot. The whole Downing thing was fucking ridiculous.

As for the topic at hand, while I agree that bumping old threads is stupid (for reasons Mark already pointed out), warning someone for doing this is pretty shit.

Disagree, he's just a member using the site getting emails into his inbox giving him a warning for posting in a quite recent thread!

I thought a lot of work was being doing to stop frequent posters leaving, and warning them for posting is certainly not a way of doing that.. I've noticed a few times that mods take posts in bumped threads and make them into a new thread (am I right in thinking that has happened?), which is a good way of doing so.

It sounds like there is a certain level of power trip going on, and to be fair to KHL he is the target of a lot of angsty posters at the moment anyway so I can understand why this would be the final straw for taking a leaver..
