Roy Hodgson insists he will continue to give his best for Liverpool, but will accept any decision to hand the manager's job to somebody else.

Liverpool appeared to have shown signs of recovering from a poor start to the season when last week's 2-0 success over Chelsea made it three Premier League wins in a row.

However, the Reds followed up a midweek draw at Wigan Athletic by going down to a 2-0 defeat at Stoke City on Saturday to place fresh question marks over Hodgson's future.

The travelling support at the Britannia Stadium chanted the name of Kenny Dalglish and Hodgson was aware of the clamour for the Kop legend's return to the hot seat.

Hodgson, though, is adamant it will take time to produce consistent results with his current squad and is determined to fight on in the job he only accepted in the summer.

Frustration

"If the club decide they want to give the job to somebody else, then I'll have to accept that, if that day comes," said Hodgson

"We are short of players, as everyone knows and we don't have so many options.

"The fans can chant for whoever they want and it will be up to the club to decide what they want to do.

"There is nothing I can do about it and I can only continue to do the best job I can do under these circumstances."

He added: "I can't get upset every time the fans chant someone's name and furthermore, we have millions of fans.

"Maybe the travelling fans are showing their frustration because we've lost, they are entitled to do that.

"Fans make their frustrations felt every time we lose, but unfortunately they may have to do that a few more times, because I can't see us going through a season winning every game."

We are short of players, and still his own defensive midfielder, who he had followed for ten years cant do a job in a game where we need a fighter to control the game. I am fucking sick of it.

Is it just me, or has he yet again tripped him self up on a few occasions with this latest speech ?

I think the time to sack roy so he only receive a years wages has expired so from roy's point of view, job done.

To be fair, through his comments regards him possibly 'having' to go, he couldn't make it any easier on NESV, it's down to them now to recognise he's not the man for the job and to listen to the fans.

Do we know this for a fact?

the report in several papers said november but not an actual date but regardless it seems nesv will give roy the season. I personally think they are missing an oppertunity. we're a mere 6 points off 4th with the january transfer window coming up. if the only thing that is going to keep torres (and to a lesser extent pepe) at liverpool is CL football next season then we should be going all out to attempt to acheive that.

but that said maybe nesv want to get the long term manager appointment right and feel if they lose out on riena and torres (because we finish outside top 4) but land the right manager then that is a sacrifice worth making.

footballing decisions should be made because they are right and logicial rather than listening to the fans because let's face it, fans are fickle.

The fans have been singing for Kenny for months now. However fickle fans are, they usually back a manager, when they don't (on the terraces) it's usually with good reason.

I guess but there have been examples of fans calling for a manager's head only for the manager to turns things around and have the fans sign his praises. getting rid of roy should be an easy decision though purely because the amount of points we've aquired at this stage of the season is unacceptable.

another thing to consider is if they were to push out the manager and (for example) kenny was made temp manager still the summer and poor results continued, what then?
nesv may well be giving the manager the season so they can take a season to secure the right guy.

Why would they do that when it's so obviously not working? There's a risk involved in absolutely any new managerial appointment. Sometimes the greater risk is to do nothing and it should be obvious to anyone that we've reached that stage with Hodgson.

Were does all these interviews with Hodgson come from anyway? he will never stop will he? Is he calling Journos to talk to them++ What is this all about... it is like a fucking nightmare where he just goes on and on and on and on, and you just cant beleive all the shite that is comming out of his mouth... He need some fucking protection against himself.

Is there anything new or surprising that Roy could possibly say in his interviews?
[/quote]

Well according to himself, he is just saying what anyone would have said.... Which is even more suprising. He knows he is going around spreading anyones shit as a manager of Liverpool FC.

that hasn't been confirmed. it's speculation.

And when he finally get the boot he will probably talk even more shite... He will go on forever about his time in Örebro, Halmstad and Liverpool... Fucking hell, it gives me the creep only thinking about it.

you just know that when roy is finally given his marching orders he will say he wasn't given the time, patience and money of the previous mangagers (which technically would be true).

rafa - 6 years
gh - 5 years
roy - 6 years

Oh yes. he will say that and a million other stupid things.

people talk about 'the liverpool way' and that liverpool aren't a sacking club but why should roy be retained further even though traditionally liverpool give their managers time? what, just because?

HIs appointment and eventual termination has nothing to do with The Liverpool Way.

He came in only because of a very specific set of circumstances to do a very specific job; to increase stability at a club going through massive financial upheaval, where it was uncertain at the time of his appointment whether there'd even be a club in 6 months.

That instability has ceased, and he has embarassingly failed to even satisfy those pitiful requirements made of him.

No one (NO.ONE.) ever thought Roy Hodgson would be the long-term appointment at a club trying to make itself great again.

the press are going to stick up for uncle roy and attempt to discredit liverpool for sacking an english manager.

'roy not given time'
'roy not given money'
'liverpool rip up past traditions'

you know what, if they do come out with the above who fucking gives a shit?

I will be delighted to hear Hodgson say whatever he wants to about his time at Liverpool, just so long as he says it in the past tense.

At least he sounds like he knows it's coming, which is probably the most self aware thing he's said since he's been here.

He does like that line about being short on players doesn't he?

But to be fair we put out a whole team of full internationals on Saturday, and are able to do so virtually every week, whilst also leaving a few more full internationals and U21 internationals on the bench each time!

He doesn't seem to ever take quality of players into account, just numbers. I am not even sure that Blackpool, Wigan and Stoke do have that many more players than us, but I am sure that the players they have are generally a load of journeymen.
