Bringing one player from the past

Souness. This team doesn't have any issues going forward. I'd love to see some of the bollockings being dished out to the back 5, would be amazing. And to see him go in on people like Hazard, Sterling, De Bruyne, Ozil etc - would be fucking beautiful.

Let me get this straight - you have a once in a lifetime chance to have any previous Liverpool player back, and some are saying Hyypia?? (All due respect to him, and others)

It has to be Steven fuckin Gerrard.

Decent defenders can be bought. Steven Gerrards can't.

We haven't managed to buy one in a very long time though

Name 5 defenders in world football better than who we've got and you'll win a prize.

Hmmm we were prepared to pay a world record fee for a defender this summer and this weekend the two we had was much better than him....
I don’t get this comment. Are you saying they were better at not defending against opposition that didn’t attack, and that VVD was worse in defending against world class wingers? What are you arguing?

Im torn between Gerrard, Didi, and Markus Babbel. I reckon Klopp would fucking jizz if he had Gerrard in his prime, but Didi and Babbel in their own way were just as influencial.

How has no-one said Suarez?
Yeah I was thinking that - He'd get my vote. He had the ability to get everyone of his team mates to suddenly play amazing. Best LFC player ever.

EDIT: At least that I've seen anyway. 🙂

Ray Clemence. The best goalkeeper we've had in my time by far and would walk into any all time Reds XI. Great shot-stopper, brilliant at dealing with crosses, brave and decisive. Would give such a boost to the defenders in front of him by his ability and communication.

That's a good shout. He used to scream at defenders until they were organised exactly as he wished, blamed them for every goal and generally bullied them into being ruthlessly risk-aversive and fully alert at all times.

Clemence, Souness or Dalglish would not only improve the side but also lead it. And Terry McDermott would link the midfield and forwards into attacking moves that are currently only hinted at. But probably the player who'd improve the side but also be the player of Klopp's dreams would be a young Emlyn Hughes, probably the most Klopp-like character there's ever been.

Enjoyed watching that!

What a player. What a man. Met him a couple of times and he was brilliant. Miss him around the club. Imagine how much he'd be worth in today's market. Brilliant at left back, CB and midfield.
