Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago Alcantara are all expected to remain absent for the visit to Brighton on Saturday. Trent Alexander-Arnold is unlikely to feature as he recovers from a calf problem. #awlfc [liverpool echo]

I'd go:

Alisson

Milner
Matip
Fabinho
Robbo

Hendo
Gini
Jones

Bobby
Jota
Salah

Big ask for Milner to do 3 games in less than a week, but don't think we have any choice, Neco Williams isn't ready. Mane looks like he could do with a little breather so I'd put him on the bench for this, can always bring him on if required.

I know Milner shouldn't play but Neco doesn't look ready. That said I'd be happy to risk it some more rather than injure Milner. We can beat Brighton with Williams at RB if we have Matip Fabinho and Robbo in there. Tempted to play Philips so Fabinho can play in our thin midfield.

Would rest Mane for sure he had a rare bad game yesterday.

That leaves a short list of players in midfield though - Jones, Gini and Fabinho? Fuck knows who else

Miner, Gini and Mane need a break, even if only 60 mins. I'd move Fabs into midfield as cover for Neco allowing him to do what he does best, get down that wing and cross. Bringing in Phillips gives us height and power in the defensive heading dept and Brighton have some tall powerful headers.

That means we lack a bit of creativity but Jones can pass across the pitch TAA style as well as thread a pass.

I would probably go with this team considering rotation needs, but objectively the strongest team we can put up is probably the one @Hansern suggested earlier. I wonder what Klopp will do.

We play Ajax on Tuesday night aswell. The schedule is horrendous.
Imagine how benefiial it would have been to give the players a mini break where the international games were, so that they could sustain this God awful season and not travel around the World during a pandemic.

I'd play Neco and trust that Hendo will guide him through - means we can get Millie in there for the Ajax game.

-------------Alisson------------
Neco--Matip--Fabs--Robbo
--------Hendo---Gini-----------
-------------Jones---------------
Salah-----Bobby-------Jota

Would be really refreshing to see us rotate Mane. Would prefer to see Taki in that AM role but Jones is playing well and deserves to keep playing.

Neco looked much better coming on as sub against Leicester so I was hopeful of a return to form. He’s not looking that great though.

He's 19. Not every academy player is Trent. How will he get better? By playing.

I think we need to lower our expectations with Neco, hes shown some good moments mostly when going forward, but Trent was a ludicrous find from the reserves. He can and will most likely improve with experience but players like Trent dont come along very often and the direct comparison is a little unfair hes just not the same level of athlete. I think best case scenario he becomes a solid back up for Trent who can step in when needed.

As it stands Williams is not ready for this level. We have to put Milner there and Klopp knows it.

Robbo had a bit of a rest midweek so he can provide most of the attacking threat against Brighton. Milner should just be tasked with supporting when he can and being solid at the back.

I'd probably let Mane sit this one out, too. He surely needs a game off.

I've never been impressed with Neco Williams. Are there any other good RBs we have coming through? Abdi Sharif?

I think we're being overly harsh on Neco. I agree that he isn't quite there yet in terms of development, but the kid is 19 years old. Give him a break.

Normally, that is if we weren't in a defensive crisis, Klopp wouldn't have even played Neco.
It probably would have been Gomez or Milner.
Anyway, this is how I believe we'll start tomorrow:

Alisson

Williams
Matip
Fabinho
Robbo

Henderson
Gini

Firmino
Jota
Mane
Salah

Don’t think anyone is expecting him to be like TAA.

You’d sacrifice the strength of the team to ensure he gets playing time, instead of playing a more experienced hand (like Milner) there?

I think looking out to the next three games (Brighton, Ajax, Wolves) we are not going to be able to play Milner in all three. Which one of the three would you play Neco in? For me - this one, given the increased importance of Ajax.
