Thought he was better at Chelsea, much better. Handled 2 different styles very well.
We play Southampton at the right time, coming back from the international break.
Next week could be a big one. City away to Brighton and Arsenal away to Chelsea.

True, but there's a window coming up when they have a chance to add to their squad. Hence why I want at least an 8 point gap.
Huge credit also to the ref Tony Harrington who I’ve never heard of before today. At the start of the 2nd half the Brighton players were throwing themselves to the floor on the slightest contact looking for a free kick. He kept ignoring them and kept play flowing which allowed us to build momentum.

I couldn’t get my head around their manager complaining about the ref.
He was clearly confused that collapsing / diving to the floor at the slightest of contact wasn't earning a FK.
The first half he wasn't wise to it. I wonder if there was comms/debrief from other officials that some of their fouls were soft.
The ref from the cup game earlier this week was also very good.
He was pissed off at him for standing on Konate's wrist, thereby giving Joemez the chance to shine against the dead seagulls
It's like this when we're playing someone big, someone European, or when we're behind.
When we're twatting some nonsense shite at the bottom of the league it doesn't really happen because it doesn't really need to.
When we're three nil up the nobheads in the away stand start singing where's your famous atmosphere, and we just look at each other and think, nope, you're not worthy.
We need to get back to giving them the “Who the fucking hell are you?” chant to make that point.

This was the first game this season Slot’s team really used the power of Anfield and connected with the fans, the way Klopp’s team connected. Could be important in the long term.
Also, the use of Lucho at #10 is something I want to see again. He helped us up the tempo and even his pressing was more ferocious than Szobo’s.

I think he's class. People have this misguided perception that you can have four world class centre backs (and the same with other roles), it just doesn't happen. He'll help us to, along with others, get over the line in some games, that's what you have a squad for. I don't really have massive concerns about Gomez or Quansah stepping in if they need to. Quansah is inexperienced and Gomez is rusty at times, so you will get the odd mistakes, but as far as squad depth goes, we can do much worse than those two. One's an absolute pro who is both versatile and reliable and the other is a rookie who's come a long way in a short space of time.
That kid at Chelsea is a good player and we were right to have looked at him, but he's a kid too who makes mistakes - he should have had two penalties given against him when they played us. It happens. We're in a good place in terms of centre halves, of course we would struggle if we lost Virg, but every side struggles without their very best players - look at City now. They can get away with Gundogan covering for Rodri in probably 90% of games, but people only remember the couple of times where it goes awry, because of how tight the league is and how costly a few dropped points can be. But in the context of the season, having a good squad is what gets you over the line.

Think it's funny as fuck that City fans are now bemoaning squad depth though, when they've sat there with a £300m bench for the past few years and been able to save De Bruyne and co for months, to then step in and win the league for them. Fucking boo hoo that your billions of pounds squad has hit a point where there's the odd hole here and there. Exactly the sort of shit that we've had to deal with everytime we've got close to challenging.
Let's hope they're still saying that in March, because they've been saying it for three months as it is. Gobshites.
