Brazil's WC squad

I'm not sure 20/1 is too skinny for a team consisting of Hazard, Vertonghen, Witsel, Mirallas, Kompany, Coutois, Defour, Lukaku etc especially as they have an "easier" group.

Apparently the Ronaldo hamstring injury is not that bad and won't affect his world cup selection.
Yeah I bet he's back for the Champions league final too.
I'm just struggling to see why Belgium are a shorter price than France,Italy and Portugal given the experience these teams have.
Need to get studying for a few topscorer bets shortly too.
Looking at Benzema and Ronaldo so far.
Also might have a small speculative bet on Sterling to be top scorer for England it looks a huge price.

I really think Argentina can win it too.
The draw has been very kind to them.
Defence is far far stronger than it was for the past few World Cups too.

This Brazil team are so uninspiring and shit it is kind of shocking. There is no outstanding player in it for me, and I have been following them since the 82 world cup. Hated the 94 team - except for Romario, and that winger Jorginhio. Loved the 2002 team as it was well balanced, hated the fact that Ronaldo was selected for the 2006 world cup in that fat ugly state. Thought the 2010 team was OK but temperamental as it proved against Holland.

What does your stock market formula tell you about teams from outside S America winning the World Cup in S America, host nations winning the World Cup & Brazils record in the World Cup.

Is that the same Jo who couldn't get a game or a goal at Man City or Everton about 5 years ago?

What the fuck is he doing going to the World Cup?

It's a major factor that no European team has won a world cup in South America BUT there's a first time for everything. Stevie, do you think no European team will EVER win in SA?

It won't be easy but there's only been 6 world cups in South America and for the first 4 of those (i.e. up until and including 1978) footballers didn't travel well, they generally played football in the country they were born, overseas transfers were very rare.

Footballers now travel the world and are well versed in adapting to foreign soil so a trip to Brazil for a world cup is no where near as daunting as it was in 1950. Having said that, European footballers rarely play for South American teams so it's still going to be tough for the European teams to adapt but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a European winner this time around.

It's hard to say even when you take into account the fact that they're lacking decent strikers at the moment. It must be mad to see Diego Costa line up for Spain given who they're playing at the moment.

Jo is doing quite well in Brazil tbf

He's still a bit shit though

Like I said - everything points to a SA team winning it - I reckon a Brazil v Argentina final is distinctly possible - with Spain & Germany making the semis.

Brazil's big test will be in the second round where they'll be up against Spain, Holland or Chile (I've already offered to run naked through the streets of Melbourne if Australia get through that group - and I reckon I'm pretty safe there).
