Lets hope Bild are full of shite then. The German Daily Mirror.

Wouldnt surprise me if he ends up there mind

Other leagues supports are alright with their players doing it. Ours would be massive cunts.

Imagine the dogs life Coutinho would get if he agreed to go to Barca now. He'd be booed every game

Is he really that good? He's scored 3 goals all season, which is a pitiful return for an attacking player.

I have to say I wasn't that worried about him one way or the other. But now that Bayern have him tied up, I'm gutted.

Also really calls into question that article about our huge transfer budget. That article also included his name on a list of players where we "had the field to ourselves".

Someone doesn't know what they are doing. They thought we had no competition and now they've gone and let themselves be bamboozled.

I hope this isn't true, but it seems oh so Liverpool.

Bayern have already signed Süle and Rudy. Signing Brandt would just open up the huge chasm between Bayern and the rest even further.

Thought Bayern plan was to develop their youth players. Their dominance in the transfer market is crazy

Ah feck.. But then Bild did report that we still had a chance on Dahoud after it was confirmed he was signing for Dortmund. Ha.

Because Bayern sign shite players ?
Every team on the planet makes its share of bad signings, Bayern included.

I have no idea whether Brandt is a good or a bad signing since I haven't really seen him play, bar the odd YouTube clip. His stats this season are however quite uninspiring.

Clearly, you've seen Brandt play and think otherwise. So perhaps you should enlighten the forum about his qualities as a player, instead of making smartarse comments?

I'm guessing he's the long term replacement for ribbon. Not on the same level as Robben yet though.

But you don't know that's the case here so maybe you should do more research yourself before suggesting he's not all that based on this season's stats alone.

I never made any suggestion, you idiot. I asked a question. To Rurik mind. Now since you clearly have nothing to add, please shut up.

So I need to quote you ? There is a massive dollop of innuendo in your comment no matter that you now try to present it as your ignorance not criticism :-

The simple fact is that both Klopp and Bayern rate him (amongst many others) and that alone would seem to indicate that there is a lot to the lad. Anyone can fail in the long term but clearly there is a lot to like at this stage of his career. I've nothing more to add as far as commenting on his skills is concerned because all I've seen are the youtube clips posted here (which is all that 99% of the posters on here will have seen).

If you wanted a private conversation with Rurik then you should have PM'd him - otherwise don't play the smartarse and say it was between you two as any comment publicly posted is open for debate on the forum. To suggest otherwise is fucking pathetic.

I hope there are no hard feelings between @Frogfish and @dmishra, really don't know what this was all about. Anyway, about Brandt. He burst on the scene last season with 9 league goals and 5 assists – at one point he scored in 6 or 7 games in a row and set some kind of scoring record for a young player. This season his game kept developing, but the scoring run never came – like dmishra said, only 3 goals in all competitions (2 in the league and one in the CL against Monaco). From the games and highlights I've seen this season of Bayer, it struck me that Brandt always seems to be the one with the ball; trying to make things happen and set up chances for his teammates. Whereas in his first season he often found himself on the end of a move; now his role in the team changed, which led to more assists and less goals. Also something happened to Bayer as a team that they lost their spark somehow (which eventually led to the manager losing his job) and pretty much treaded water all season.

So while these numbers (3 goals and 7 assists in all comps) are nothing to sing about, this doesn't change my view of Brandt – he has shown before that he can finish and he's 20 years old for fucks sake! He's not a finished article, but his potential is excellent and I actually think his overall game has progressed nicely this season.

I was comparing his stats to Dembele (8 goals, 15 assists) and Pulisic (6 goals, 8 assists), and they seem to have outperformed him this season.

Also, perhaps that's just my impression from the clips I've seen - but he doesn't seem to have searing pace, or the ball-carrying ability of a Dembele. My fear watching those clips was that he might end up being a Maxi Rodriguez type winger rather than an Eden Hazard type i.e. reliant more on movement and intelligence as opposed to terrifying pace and power.

I'd rather be interested in someone who has terrifying pace and skill.

What do you think of Serge Gnabry in this context?

Yes, if you're looking for someone with terrifying pace and acceleration, then Brandt won't be that player. I said before that he reminds me of Thomas Muller with the way he always manages to find space. He is physically big and strong, however; even at 20 he's bigger than some of the defenders he's facing and this season in particular he started using his strength better to shield the ball, so he's quite difficult to dispossess. That combination of strength, skill and excellent football brain is why he's so highly rated.

Gnabry is interesting. Something didn't work for him at Arsenal, but he's tearing it up at Werder. Explosive player with an eye for goal. Can't say much more, because I don't recall seeing any full games by Werder this season, so I only judge by highlights.
