I don't think that's entirely accurate. I think most people couldn't wait for Mignolet to be dropped and to give someone else a go. I don't think many people were too privy to this lads abilities, but Mignolet had been a weak link for a few seasons. It's not like it was an "if it ain't broke" situation.

Klopp got it wrong about Karius, he's not good enough, but that doesn't really have any bearing at all on Mignolet, he's not good enough either. People put their faith in Klopp's judgement, as many people on here do, because his record speaks for itself, we've all done it over different issues with him, yourself included.

He wasn't ready, you didn't know his abilities, it was blind faith. And well, well, well, Rodgers worshipper, you're now trying to explain away the fact that I've obviously argued against Klopp because it doesn't fit with your pathetic stereotyping. Ha ha what a joke you are. You even deleted half my post to drive your agenda. You've even assumed what my attitude is and only got 2/3 of it right.

Just so you understand, I'll write it again. A change was required, that was so blatantly obvious it's not even worth talking about. Klopp decided Karius was ready, made his decision and living with it. My stance is that Mignolet is not good enough and I trusted Klopp into this since he obviously knew Karius better.

So one match makes it wrong? We havent been saying that for the last 3-4 games.

Wasnt good enough today but one game doesnt say if your good enough or not.

And Ming is very average. He's been average for years. Lets give the other guy a bit more time.

If it doesnt work out then maybe Danny Ward steps up next season for all that we know.

I used that post as an invitation to discuss our squad options, given that only a fucking moron would assume that playing Lucas at CB, Firmino at LW and Origi as central striker - not to mention the horrific performance of Klarius in goal - is any kind of tactical conundrum, rather than an obvious example that we don't have enough good players

Many fans had identified Mignolet as being patently not good enough for years. For me personally it was the Xmas game vs Chelsea when I realised he was deeply flawed

The continued presence of Mignolet, and subsequent contract extension given to him by Klopp - with attendant compliments - further muddied the waters

Signing Karius was, for many, a blessed relief, even if some did point out his Bundesliga reputation for not liking crosses and punching rather than catching.

But no, that league was just the same as the Premiership, and he was the second best keeper in Germany!

That hapless, blind Klopp Can Do No Wrong attitude, allied with an entirely understandable antipathy for the mediocre Mignolet, did lead to many simply wanting Karius to immediately supplant Mignolet, which I get

It was a little irritating though, that when Karius did inevitably take his place, every entirely accurate concern about his form, quality and spastic flapping at crosses was dismissed as 'moaning' and laughably defended

So it's also understandable that when he plays like a total cunt, some Klopp Acolytes simply cannot accept that he might not be very good. And yeah that is embarrassing

But I don't think the eagerness to get shut of Mignolet is misplaced. He's shit.

But that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to discuss the possibility - even likelihood- that Karius is also shit

I made a semi-serious joke about the inevitability of Karius replacing Mignolet then getting dropped for Mignolet around Xmas, for a few games, as we realised that we have two equally flawed goalkeepers

You do yourself no favors ... but you go on and on about Studge, who's a brilliant finisher and I agree. But this is a player who has scored more than 12 goals once in his career and he's 27, and this year, his record in the premier league is as good as Lucas's in the goalscoring department. When Firmino starts in the middle, the team scores goals ... He's a PART of the equation that works really well ... and yet, you go on and on about a 'useless flabby melt' and deride him constantly (don't bring up yesterday - he was on the left flank and was very poor, as expected when he starts there). NO ONE has said he's a 'top quality premiership finisher' - but you pretend they do to go on and on and on as if people think he's the second coming of God.

Before talking about 'a more objective and cautionary approach' to others, perhaps do it yourself with Firmino?
