Bob the day we signed the King

He may have cost - for the time - a record fee, but I don't think there's been any signing that has been more important than Kenny by this club, or any other, in terms of the service, success and ongoing contribution to LFC and Liverpool.

That was great. I liked Paisley's comments about the Charity shield, in that the result is irrelevant, just so long as you're in it the next year. Those were the days.

King Kenny initially came to LFC for a trial at 15 (I think it was) which didn't work out because he got homesick. Whoever - presumably Paisley himself - made sure that that didn't prevent the King from coming back for real did LFC the most enormous service.
