The GAA? What? What's that got to do with football

(Also, what is it?)

Anyway, losing the beauty of watching the next Kenny slipping/ chipping/ dinking a throughball for the next Rushie to race onto would be a mortal blow to football

So did I. Those old tales of Wexford in the GC seems a lifetime ago now.

wouldn't abolish it completely, just bring in a new line half way between the box and the halfway line, and this would achieve the desired result of opening up the game, without goal hatching... so instead of the halfway line...the new line would be the offside line...

I'd like to see someone disagree with that one...

Plus there's the added value of Anfield looking like a Subbuteo pitch...!

That's quite similar to ice hockey and I just don't think that would be appealing for football. I'd rather have offside abolished than an arbitrary line put in. Which isn't to say I want it abolished.

Hockey (both ice and field) offside rules are simpler.

So either go for this hockey rule or introduce technology. It will do football/soccer a world of good.

I wouldn't mind the idea of a a new offside line being experiemented with in some meaningless tournament. I actually think it could be quite good for football.

But as Del points out, bringing in video refereee's is the obvious priortity.

Delinquent's right,

gotta make it so that there is always officials checking well placed and ball following camera from the sides of the field and one for the goal posts. Mic and head piece to the match referee shouldn't take about 5-10 seconds extra at most.

Have 12 players instead of 11. 😉

Or allow 4 subs instead of 3.

The Scumalready play with 12 men; its just he's usally in black.

Blatter, Scudamore and Platini are all fucking idiots. Which one is the biggest is up for debate.
