Bite, Nibble, Munch and Chomp

There's a teensy bit of over-reaction to these characters as well IMHO. Yes, they sound hypocritical, but I wouldn't want them to say: 'Yeah, well I was a thug as well so obviously I applaud it'. What they probably SHOULD do is keep their traps shut on topics like this, but I guess, if they must speak, I'd rather they sounded hypocritical and called it right on this occasion.

I'd go with the former, that they should say nothing, why is their opinion relevant when in contrast, they got away with it?

Yep they have to say something but I had to laugh at people like Danny Mills asking for Suarez to be thrown into jail. Christ Danny. A tad OTT.

Just show us the money (and Sanchez?) and you can do the charm routine all you want at his unveiling.

Barcelona chief praises ‘humble’ Luis Suárez as charm offensive continues
• Spanish club not deterred from pursuing Liverpool striker
• Forward banned for four months for biting at World Cup

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has praised transfer target Luis Suárez for issuing a public apology for his bite on Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup, calling the Uruguay and Liverpool forward “humble”.

Suárez is believed to be Barcelona’s No1 transfer target this summer and the fact the player has been banned from playing football for four months by Fifa for his bite on Chiellini has not deterred the club from pursuing his signature.

Suárez, who initially denied biting Chiellini, apologised to the Italy defender via social media on Monday, but did not mention Liverpool in his statement, prompting speculation he is indeed looking to leave the Merseyside club for Barcelona. It has been suggested that Barcelona encouraged Suárez to apologise for his actions, and Zubizarreta welcomed the move.

“Suárez has shown he is humble enough to admit an error, which is very important,” he told reporters. “He has been humble enough to apologise to those he has affected, because it happened in the middle of a festival of football. In this case it’s the best thing a person can do.”

The former Barça and Spain goalkeeper also highlighted Suárez’s footballing qualities. “Everyone knows that Luis is an excellent player, everyone knows last season he played in various positions in attack, but everyone also knows that he is a Liverpool player,” he said.

Zubizarreta was speaking at the presentation of Barcelona’s latest signing Ivan Rakitic, and the midfielder also praised Suárez. “The fact he has had the character and the strength to go in front of everyone and say sorry says a lot about him as a person,” said the Croatian international. “Not every person has that strength to admit they have done something stupid. I rarely say that I am wrong so this says a lot about him, he has shown the character and strength he has so he should be commended for that.

“Regardless of whether the club signs him or not, his quality is unquestionable. He has shown a lot of quality with Uruguay and scored more than 30 goals [last season] with Liverpool, so he has the necessary quality to play for Barça.”

I don't want those fucking cunts - or the twats at Madrid - to have Suarez. Not when they fucking pull this shit off. They can go fuck themselves. Loan him to Kosovo and tell him to come back ready to win the league.

fucking sky sports, Ballague was talking by phone and all you could hear was the dickheads in the studio typing and clicking their mouse constantly

he said Suarez wants Barcelona
Madrid have been told this and are after Falcao
he'd be surprised if Suarez is playing in England next season

nothing new

I fucking despise Real and Barca when it comes to this, they're so fucking arrogant.

Ballbag always seems ecstatic when making these claims. For a so-called 'lifelong Red' he takes a bizarre amount of pleasure from seeing out players tapped up and taken away.

Why are Barca even bothering with a charm offensive?

You want him - pay the fucking release clause or fuck off.

Oh... and I hope we report the pricks for blatantly tapping up Suarez and they finally get that transfer ban they deserve.

I hope we put out a press release telling the world how we will support Suarez through his rehabilitation as we are part of the football family he's apologised too.

Tell the world that we are absolutely certain that Luis will respect the clubs effort & support and are certain he'll show the club the same respect while honouring to the full the contract he signed less than a year ago.

Give the little fucker nowhere to wiggle off to.

At the risk of repeating myself I think we can rest assured we're in safe hands with John Henry. He'll do what's best for him and his co-owners so I think release clauses and reduced fees are unlikely to bother him based on what he's said before. I'm sure if Brendan Rodgers wants to keep him then that's what will happen regardless.

Because they are not, and do not want to pay it in cash. They want to exchange a player so that they can manipulate the total transfer value.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a first offer of something like pedro + 20mill.

I guess it's quite common, I bet we tried to palm off some fringe players when signing the llama.

Ryan, you're completely going OTT. Mischaracterizing everyone, and overstating their views. You're the Corcavado of SCM during the 2014 Suarez affair. Maybe we could play Joe Allen as a false nine next season: or tell us who we should replace him with - because god knows, we need a world class replacement, if we follow your line of thinking and let him go.

Well.... we are under no obligation to sell and have no need to.

We play the game then.

Call any bid by Barca derisory and frankly insulting to a player of Suarez ability & question whether Barca are really interested in a Suarez.

It's up to us to retain power & moral high ground.

He's a boss player, if we keep him, we keep him.

He's a nob though, if we sell him, we sell him.

I think that's probably where most people are at.

Unfortunately contracts dont stand up for much if the player turns into a cunt and refuses to train etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see Suarez go full Tevez based on what we've seen of the mentality of the man. Granted we can't be forced to sell, but if he goes full Tevez we'll be stuck with a depreciating asset and a greatly weakened first team, so we'd probably try and offload him on the cheap if that happened.

What evidence is there that he would adopt such an attitude?
Do you think John Henry would wilt in the face of blackmail?

I can only think of Tevez doing that and Citeh just waited him out. And they didn't have the advantage of a built in 4 month breathing space. I just don't get the doom.
