The newcastle game, and every game we've struggled in this season (especially away) highlighted our sheer lack of big ugly bastards who like to get in the oppositions face, with some crunching tackles and diving in for every 50:50. It's obvious we need a young Gerrard or 5, but with the January window approaching, who would you want to buy that would compliment what little talent we have and turn it into one of those teams who scares the shite out of you before scoring a top class goal, a la Inter under Mourinho, or Utd when they had Keane, Scholes etc.

Who would you go for?

We need someone to do the gritty stuff.

We relied on the likes of Kuyt, Mascherano, Gerrard and Carragher to do that for us, but it has simply gone missing.

Carra, Gerrard, and Kuyt are no spring chickens and they are losing that edge when it comes to the physical side of things.

We need to add other players who can supplement the experience of these guys. I'm looking at the second striker and DM to provide some of that, but N'gog and Lucas are not exactly capable of that.....so we need fresh talent.

Sakho for LB, Mousa Sissoko for DM and a big powerful target man in the Jan please. Oh and, some wingers would be a bonus. So ya, we need about 5 new players and a manager.

Darren Bent and Ashley Young.

Prem proven and would improve our first 11 infinitely.

Ha.

Teams that play football don't need big fuckers huffing and puffing around the pitch

Shawcross, Cattermole, Carroll.

All would improve our team and supply a bit of the growling aggression we so badly need.

I'm a big fan of having at least one big/ hard/ horrible/ hard cunt in the side.

Instead we've got insipid useless twats like Lucarse, Eggnog and Maxi-pad.

I love snarling aggression in players

He's very like Ferguson: stupid, violent and will never be hugely prolific.

But I think he's a better player and will score more goals, if he stays fit and focused.

Momo Sissoko

Easy to aquire, just ask juve for £5Million and give them Aquaman.

I'd take him back instantly.

I think that's how I'd value him. No thanks.

Yeah definitely more prolific but with the same capacity to end up getting sent down. I'd love us to buy him though, we need some winners and he looks like he'd fight tooth and nail for the win.

I would definitely trade Lucas for Sissoko. He's a ball winner, sure his passing isn't exactly world class but I think our midfield would be a lot stronger with him.

Remember when we had the best midfield in the world? He was a part of it.

That's the one. Embarrassing.

Personally I find it quite entertaining and can't stop watching it

Carroll reminds me alot of Big Dunc.

oldham?

Arf.

I don't think he's a better all-round player yet than Ferguson, who actually had some neat skills on the deck as well as in the air (when he wasn't looking for someone to decapitate) which I haven't seen in Carroll so far. However, Carroll looks to be a more consistent goal threat. If he's handled right, he could well end up having had a more productive career than Drunken Duncan.
