Josef "Pepi" Bican (25 September 1913 – 12 December 2001) was a Czech-Austrian football forward. It is estimated by respected footballing statistics page RSSSF that Bican scored around 800 goals in all competitive matches, not including friendly games. This would make him the all-time most prolific scorer in football history known to date.[3]

yep something like that, the stats not including friendlies are also amazing, its incredible to hear that a legend like that, part of the Wunderteam of the 30's (who contains one of my all time greats Sindelar, he deserves another thread completely) is hardly known now.

be amazed at the goal scoring feats of a legend - show your respect to him, mabe the title was a bit OTT, but that was my first reaction when I saw those stats.

Roger Hunt had a goal a game in the league one season I think.
Gerd Muller for Germany, played 62 scored 68.
Some chap for one of the Sheffields had an outrageous record then broke his leg and had it amputated. Dooley possibly.

I must admit, I've never heard of the Bican fella although his feats are tremendous. Obviously, I've hard of the next 4, great achievements.
Jimmy Greaves record is awesome, as is Mullers.
