The Barnes thread got me thinking that I never saw him in the flesh and who were the best 11 I did see in the flesh.

Considering I didn't get over to Liverpool when I was younger my team is pretty recent.

Mine is also a recent jobby! Absolutely cannot think of a right sided player who was any good that i've seen to be honest, and I also saw Kewell when he was playing pretty well.

Ha afraid not I just think and always will that Hyppia and Henchoz in their prime were better CB's.

I would have gone with Pepe too, mate, except that I came to the heartbreaking realization when putting this team together that I have yet to see the great man play live... Everytime I've come home for the past 6 or 7 years, they've been playing away and I couldn't get f#$!ing tickets.

And regarding Sami... Well, he'd be no dtep down in quality, would he? But, overall, I think the Hansen - Lawro partnership is the best CB pairing I've ever seen, so I'd not break it up, even for Sami.

Oh, and if my team needed a goalie, we'd just move Stevie Nicol in there - I'm sure he's great in nets too!
 
Ah but you only think Hansen/Lawro was the ultimate pairing because Sami wasn't around then ! I think Samis the better player.
