He supported them as a child and thinks that getting Cardiff into the Premiership would be a big boost for Welsh football in general, according to article on Soccernet.

I thought he supported Liverpool?

I would imagine he supported them as his local team and Liverpool as well? Not sure to be honest.

I'd take bellers back, him going to Cardiff is menckal.

So's Bellers

Man City have him over a barrel. They won't sell him to a rival and I doubt a mid-table team would interest him or could afford him so he may as well take six months at Cardiff. Mancini will be sacked by the time the loan ends and he can see if he can get back into the City squad with the new manager.

Somebody called this in that 'where will he go' signing thread. Can't remember who though.

Story today about him not being allowed into the training ground at City, and that they've just written him off like an asset.

They won't sell him to a rival club, Spurs and Liverpool are interested.
So now he might go to Cardiff on loan, even though Sunderland and Celtic are interested aswell.

I like Bellamy and would have him back in an instant.

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has agreed to join home-town club Cardiff City on loan, according to reports.

Bellamy was told he would not figure in City's 25-man Premier League squad by manager Roberto Mancini and has dropped down a division to the Championship.

The 31-year-old had been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, Liverpool and SPL side Celtic but appears to have opted to return to his native Wales following talks with Cardiff boss Dave Jones on Monday.

The Wales captain will almost certainly go straight into the Bluebirds starting line-up to face Doncaster at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

A news conference is set to be held later on Tuesday to confirm the deal.

Get your money on Cardiff for promotion............

A midfield/forward line of......

Burke...........Olofinjana...............Koumas.............Bellamy

.........................Chopra..........Bothroyd....................

And they also have Whittingham, if he stays.

Defensively, they are decent at both full back positions, at centre back they have Gyepes and Gerrard (Stevie's cousin) who are both below standard. If they sign Chris Riggott (apparently they are after him) and play him beside Hudson then that should be sufficient.

Great move for Cardiff, they must be loving it. Bellers will dominate in the Championship

Its a shame, one of the best players in the league last year is being forced to play in the championship! He must be sickened!
[/quote]

Nope. He wasn't forced at all and actually wanted to go there for family reasons, a bit like Jamo at Bristol City. I'm certain Bellamy could have stayed in the Prem if that had been his priority.

Incidentally I'm not convinced he'll set the world alight down there. On the contrary I can see having to play with/against lesser players taking the edge off his game, if not his temper.
