Sell Babel/Voro etc and go all out for Higuain.

Doubt there is much chance of getting him but perhaps we could twist his arm with the world cup around the corner.
He might find himself on the Madrid bench for long spells when they are back to full strenght.

A checky loan deal for VDV could also be an option. IF we are out of the CL by Jan, Madrid won't see it as helping a rival to them and might be open to the idea.

Haha. I love the optimism in thread.

I dont think we will spend more than 20m in January. Agree with Ross though, sell some of the deadwood if we can and play some of the kids. Who knows, we might all be pleasantly surprised.

It won't be a firesale, as managers never do that in january. Players aren't availeble and there won't be to many changes.

I'm guessing 2 out and 2 in.

Dossena and Voronin will leave.

An attacking midfielder and a striker will be signed.

I would set up a loan deal with a option to buy, and get Van der Vaart.
The striker would have to be a player that can play alone upfront, so I'd sign Pavlychenko. He hasn't been given a chance by 'Arry, and there is clearly a a very good player there that could give us a lift.
Price would the key factor. Spurs wants to sell, but maybe we could get away with a loan/option to buy deal.

Next summer, Degen, Babel, Mascherano and Kyrigiakos will leave.

We'll sign Yaya Toure and Elia. Give Kelly the chance to be our back up right back and get in another centre back.
He's fucking beast Sunny. And i dont even know why. He isnt the quickest, nor the most skillful, he just seems to have an AMAZING positional sense and is a super finisher. The ONLY excuse for not rating him is having not seen much of him.

The only problem with that is that it makes him sound a lot like Morientes.

I just fear the pace in England would give him problems.
He's no slouch mate. Hes just not Torres paced. He's still got a good turn of speed.
A year ago i wanted him, Johnson and Aquilani. If we signed him i think id die.

He's got a decent goalscoring record and he's only 22. He just didn't impress me THAT much when we played him. But that's the only game I've seen him in really which isn't really a good game to form an opinion on seeing as RM were fucking gash.

Hes a good player but i don't think hes ever going to be top class. Hes not the quickest, not the most skillful and i think i think he would be another in the Keane mould for us.

I was watching the AC vs Real game at the San Siro the other week and it summed it up for me. You've got Pato at one end of the pitch who was tearing it up and looking bloody wonderful and Higuain who was huffing and puffing and having an awful time of it. I want a potential worldy ala Pato, not a workhorse ala Higuain.

At the end of the day if he was so great he would be one of the first names on the teamsheet at Madrid and they wouldn't be looking to buy superstar replacements to play in his position.
2 games for the worst argentina team ever 3 goals. And 27 in his last 40 for Madrid.
He's over 1 in 3 which is amazing for a 22 year old playing at Madrid.
Hes a pure natural finisher. Pyar pyar talent.
Love and Want him here.

Have you seen much of him?

If you're judgement is based on largely on one or two performances in the CL, reputations or an impression you get from looking at teamsheets, I'd advise you to hold back and wait till you've seen more of the player.

To repeat what I always say - I didn't think much of him when he arrived at Real. He did look a bit workmanlike with no stand out qualities and what's more, his finishing was often quite poor. All in all, I didn't really understand what all the fuss was about and as opposed to Aguero, didn't really regret our reported interest in the media never materializing into a deal.

He's improved markedly since that first season however and became one of Real's best players - I've watched him bail them out on numerous occasions with assists and goals, as you saw Pato do the other week for Milan. I don't think he'll be a world superstar a la Torres or Ronaldo, but as far as becoming top class goes, he's already there. I wouldn't read too much into people saying he can't get a game these days as:

1) It's Real Madrid who give priority to reputation and star power and make stupid decisions time and time again.

2) La Liga followers, certainly in the summer, were of the opinion that Higuain - one of Real's players - should definitely remain in Real's plans going forward (e.g. http://sixcrazyminutes.com/forums/index.php?topic=33964.0).

I'm not going to give you the hard sell like Oncey - and there are certain issues like pace and advocating him for a wide position (which I disagree with strongly) to debate - but the fact that a 21 year old scoring 20+ goals for Real Madrid has barely gotten a mention on this site other from those who watch La Liga maybe goes to show that people don't know much about him yet.

Here, Here. Gonzalo is my number one target. He really grew into a player the year Madrid won the league with important goals. He can play in various positions across the front line and is technically able.

Well im not changing my stance. From whenever ive seen him in Champions League and the few La Liga games i get to see i think hes a good player but not top class. Its unfair for me to label him anything else when i can only judge a player from what i see.

A player in La Liga who doesn't get mentioned much but i think could be very good and has a bit of a spark about his play is Giuseppe Rossi. There will always be doubts over whether he could do it over here.
