We actually allowed them to create very little. The last 15 was a worry as we gave the ball away easy and cant afford to do that, but we havnt been awful and we have given as much as we have got.

I'm surprised to see Salah getting shit. He's defending well and has kept the ball well enough when he's gotten it. Firmino on the other hand... how many times has he lost it in dangerous positions?

Klopp needs to remind them all that (thanks to Mane's wonder goal) that we're still in control and there is no need to run around like headless chickens.

HA! A bit unfair, not much he could do at all there, It was a certain goal if he left it. Shame Mane wasn't there, he got it over the bar from there on Sunday.

I don't blame Matip apart from Robbo the ball went through VVD's legs as well so by the time he saw it he couldn't do much with it.

Firmino really isn't helping though, he's coming back and giving up possession everytime, as he has all fucking season. It's frustrating to watch, but as you say the midfield is non-existent. Even though it usually gets blamed on Henderson, it's easy to see why, Milner and Gini are principally there to cover for the fullbacks, with no real license to do much else, which then impacts on the midfield as a unit. The midfield looks static, as per.

this is a very strange game, I don't know cannot make anything out of it - I mean they look shit, and are stopping us getting into our groove by playing utter shit. Just like last time, I feel like we could just kill this lot if we were the Liverpool of last season, but for some reason we seem to be just playing really within ourselves. Pick our moments on when to try and counter and take higher risks.
Now we seem to try that too often and they come straight at us when we lose it.

We're really weird in Europe, the way we played last season shouldn't have got us to the CL final, traditionally speaking it's been conservative teams with solid defences & some good attackers to take their few chances that do well in Europe, yet this season that's us to a tee, yet we are really struggling & look like we should be playing more gung ho footy again to really hurt anyone.

Yes. The lineman is supposed to leave it to VAR in those situations. Must be tough going from no VAR one match to having it the next.

Its not 'showing respect', its how we have been most of the season. FB's barely getting past the half way line, bypassing the midfield with long balls and salah and firmino being shit. Its a far cry from what we did last season.

They've not really troubled our defence bar the goal. Our midfield is giving up possession too easily though.
